If I may ask, why the term "passable"? I'm not entirely sure about the term because it implies that someone can "fail". Is it feminine attributes? If that's it, maybe the term should be changed? Everyone is who they are. It seems so negative to imply someone has failed because of (ie) a prominant brow bone or chin, or deep voice, etc. I dunno. Maybe it would help with thinking more positively? It was just something I noticed right off the hop.

First off you a very lovely. I am a black male 23 who has been uncover crossdresser keeping it from my family for most of my life and recently I have been putting thought into transition. To be honest for some of us family plays a big role in the choice. It seem like I am always hired on professional jobs. I work at a Television Station right now with no problems. I may hear once inwhile "thats really a guy" Or sometimes the News producer would say "thank you sir" and I will say to her with a beautiful smile "why did you call me sir ?". I think a lot of black trans girls don't want to be "out". There are so many black tgirls here in nyc and they pass extremly well. It seems like I see at least a few every week I've never met before, and those are just the ones I can tell are trans. I think we often don't connect with each other out of intimdation and fear. I think this is really true if you aren't connected to the black gay world. It seems so many black girls "come out" that way.
