Here's some positive news - in Minnesota, I have only been seeing Ron Paul bumper stickers and yard signs for Ron Paul out there. Very rarely do I see any support for anyone else!
What I see in person has been vastly different from what the media likes to portray!
Clinton = horrible human being - my opinion based on a lot that I don't have room for posting, not to mention that she already lived in the White House.
Obama = inspiration only - he has very little accomplished in his political time to really know how he will do. Keep in mind, Hitler was "greatly inspiring" to his people.
McCain = we can't afford and the war needs to end.

What equality!? Blacks today are incarcerated more today than they ever have in history. Black incarceration rates have exploded since the 1960's. I went out for dinner last night with some of my family. We are all grown and in our 40's and 50's. I told my brother that my husband and I are voting for Ron Paul and I was just really telling him some of the reasons I supported Ron Paul. He told me something I hear from alot of people and I need to know what to say. They say they like him to but won't vote for him because he doesn't have a chance in winning. What is this? Are they all deceived by the media?

here is a reply, NO! Look at what the Federal government is doing. Most state governments do very well at balancing their budgets and catering to their constituants demands. I do agree with the idea of a smaller government. Like Thomas Jefferson said " The best Government is the one that governs Least." And the fact that Ron Paul is a libertarian does not bother me at all, it apparently bothers the media a whole bunch though. It's not the "media" that doesn't like Ron Paul, it's the establishment. Special interest lobbyists, like drug companies and oil companies. Ron Paul can't be bought and he wants the power back to the people and he is fighting the rich and powerful that have many trump cards to play against him. You are correct with Libertarianism in stating that it is about LIBERTY. I don't relate it to states and power, I brought that up because he has mentioned it a couple of times. Personally, I think all the candidates are horrible, if I were to vote for anyone it would be Ron Paul, because he has concrete ideas that would actually reform. Everyone else brings more of the same. Yet, a huge plan would have to be created to express how the system would run, and its limitations.

Doesnt make sense since it is a union of different states. A lot of the issues needs and should be held at the local level, your property taxes pay for that, why not get more out of them? Why just not take out the word United and call it State of America?
Good Point. I never really viewed it like that. Each state already has their own laws and way that they perform certain tasks. The Articles of Confederation failed because it had a WEAK CENTRAL GOVERNMENT and strong STATE GOVERNMENT. In this system if we do give more power to the states, we must makes sure that the state power does not over exceed the power that the CENTRAL GOVERNMENT has over them.

It says ron paul has the answers and i heard a radio broadcast that actually touch on the issues and i was getting somewhat convinced on the guy but after coming back here and listing to all the ron paul campaigners asking for contributions again because its his wedding aniversary im back to sqaure one no vote. noone donated me money just because my wedding aniversary was here so go ahead let your kids starve and donate your hard earned cash so they can go out and celebrate a wedding and feast.

Do ya think the money donated on Jan. 21 went to MLK??? I have been following Ron for more than 20 years. I would bet the farm that Ron would NEVER misuse any campaign money... I went out for dinner last night with some of my family. We are all grown and in our 40's and 50's. I told my brother that my husband and I are voting for Ron Paul and I was just really telling him some of the reasons I supported Ron Paul. He told me something I hear from alot of people and I need to know what to say. They say they like him to but won't vote for him because he doesn't have a chance in winning. What is this? Are they all deceived by the media?

Although I am usually one to agree with you, I am scared shitless right now by mccain being the front runner. So scared, that I would rather give my vote to someone with more of a chance of beating mccain, and keep pushing ron pauls message, or shall I say, the message of the constitution.

here is a reply, NO! Look at what the Federal government is doing. Most state governments do very well at balancing their budgets and catering to their constituants demands. I do agree with the idea of a smaller government. Like Thomas Jefferson said " The best Government is the one that governs Least." And the fact that Ron Paul is a libertarian does not bother me at all, it apparently bothers the media a whole bunch though. Yet to return power to the individual states requires a great deal of support from the American public and officials (Which are too busy to actually care what is better for the country.) It's not the "media" that doesn't like Ron Paul, it's the establishment. Special interest lobbyists, like drug companies and oil companies. Ron Paul can't be bought and he wants the power back to the people and he is fighting the rich and powerful that have many trump cards to play against him. Most americans like Ron and would like for him to win, however the press tell the american sheep what to do and they do it, begrudgingly or not, they do what they are told.

Is returning the power back to the states (i.e. the people) similar to what the confederates did/wanted? Absoulutly not! Libertarianism is about LIBERTY. The Rebels only broke away to preserve their precious slavery. Completely different and irrelevant.

You are correct with Libertarianism in stating that it is about LIBERTY. I don't relate it to states and power, I brought that up because he has mentioned it a couple of times. Personally, I think all the candidates are horrible, if I were to vote for anyone it would be Ron Paul, because he has concrete ideas that would actually reform. Everyone else brings more of the same. Yet, a huge plan would have to be created to express how the system would run, and its limitations.

Doesnt make sense since it is a union of different states. A lot of the issues needs and should be held at the local level, your property taxes pay for that, why not get more out of them? Why just not take out the word United and call it State of America?

Good Point. I never really viewed it like that. Each state already has their own laws and way that they perform certain tasks. The Articles of Confederation failed because it had a WEAK CENTRAL GOVERNMENT and strong STATE GOVERNMENT. In this system if we do give more power to the states, we must makes sure that the state power does not over exceed the power that the CENTRAL GOVERNMENT has over them.
