I agree with Cenk with regard to how Hillary Clinton might be in the environment of the Supreme Court, no longer burdened with the same political games she's needed to play in the Senate and now within the executive branch. But from a political standpoint, it wouldn't make sense for her at this point. She's doing well as Sec. of State, and there's still potential presidential opportunities for her (VP in '12, Pres in '16).

He didn't float the idea, Matt Lauer did, and Orin Hatch at first said that she "did a good job for the Democrat party as Secretary of State." Hillary would be a horrible choice. It's not that she would be a bad jurist but it would be a political shit storm on both sides of the aisle. It would be seen as Obama putting Hillary in the corner by her ardent supporters and taking her out of play to be the first female president of the United States. It would also be an excuse for the right to dredge up every scandal and smear they used against her husband. Hatch knows Obama is not that dumb and that is why he suggested her.
