At 2:06 Cedric is trying to keep it together, you could see it in his face and hear the agony in his voice that he wants to cry. I commend him, not only for keeping his composure but continuing on to belt out a sick fucking track. R.I.P. Julio Venegas, duermate en infierno, por que el infierno es la unica verdad...
i dont think he forgot the lyrics, i think he got a little choked up. cuz im pretty sure this song is about the death of Julio Venegas. so, its pretty easy to get a little emotional when you are singing about the time that one of your childhood friends killed himself.
people choke on lyrics when they are starting out dude - imagine the nerves you have to have to be going out on a limb for music like this. He wrote the lyrics - let him sing it however the fuck he wants.
say what u want about forgetin the lryics, but omar is amazing and cedric hits every note he sings, which even for him doesnt always happen, thats what u get from a live Mars Volta song....would u want the same exact song form the cd, or they're exact interpretation of the song at that moment...ill take the latter every time

Sorry, I hate being one of those terribly negative people in the comments, but this video really isn't good at all. I hope people get to hear the non-live version before they see this, because this just may ruin it for them otherwise. Forgetting the lyrics? Like come on.
try making music for 15 years and be on drugs whilst writing/performing/sleeping..all the while trying to balance home life with life on the road..maybe its just me, but i feel nobody is perfect, and if you want absolute perfection in your life look into that cult called christianity
@ChonnyChimole I think they were saying that christianity touts opportunity to achieve absolute perfection and is therefor ridiculous. Hence the perjorative usage of the word "cult."
Yeah, it's amazing! 5* "Televators" is a fantastic song, they did an excellent rendition of it here and the Electric Ballroom show is simply awesome. This guys are pure musical genius!!!
Thanks mic1789 for sharing these live show! The 2 videos for the next track, "Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt" (Pt. 1 & 2) at the Electric Ballroom are on YT posted by V1sceraEyes.
to me it just sounds like alot of heavy delay/echo,, chorus,, and just sliding the pick (on its thin edge) up and down the muted bottom strings (e and b) whilst vibrating the hand quckly like tremelo pickin but on its edge,, i think thats wot he's doin?,, similar to david gilmour in 'run like hell' intro
like the other guy said, a lot of delay, and a lot of reverb. You can also see he's using a slide, and it sounds like there is a lot of wah in there, too, along with distortion on and off. I also use a pitch shifter set to make the sound about an octave higher when I try and play this version.
this is why omar is unbelievable... think of how much bullsh*t is synthesized these days, and look at these guys - how can anyone question their talent?
I reposted this because i made a mistake while editing the last one and put a clips of a differnet song at the begining of it by accident. So i took it down fixed the mistake and this one should be ok if there is another problem with it or one of my other videos please send me a message, dont just comment about it, i usually dont read the comments

This is the best performance of Televators Ive ever seen, and I also like this better than the recorded version.

If I were there, I feel like I'd be witnessing that performance of The End, by The Doors.
Fucking intense.

A piece of art.
A masterpiece, actually.
So emotionally treated, so personal, so well-done.
I'm all for Volta.
