Indian music requires rigorous practise from an early age to even master a fraction of it. It can take a lifetime to master a handful of ragas with all their nuances. The music is also a couple of thousand or more years old when hippies were no whare to be seen. The only people capable of understanding and learning it, regardless of whether they're Western or Indian, are those who are highly pitch sensitive. They're also plenty of pitch deaf people in India who can't hear the notes.

In the video description it says "a raga is a sitar piece of music". How the fuck hard can it be to explain what a raga is, if you are an Indian-classical musicain, without elementary errors like that!?

I'd like to see someone from India actually post some videos on how to play the sitar. So far all I have seen are some American women demonstrating the sitar. Come on, there are more than a billion Desis in the world! Please get more involved!
