everyone arguing about which came first (transformers and go bots) listen transformers came out in japan in about 1977 exept they were just robots called diaclone and there was no real plot to it they were just toys then some people from hasbro were in japan and saw them in a toy store and thought wouldnt this be a cool idea so then they made a deal with takara and then thats when the cartoon and toys came out in america. so really transformers came first in diaclone form.

The Toys of both franchises were created in late 1983, early '84. As for the cartoons, both the gobots and transformers first aired in 1984. I don't know the exact dates cause i just dont care that much the point is wich ever did come first only did so by a couple months so go find something else to nit pik about. Besides Voltron was cooler:P
