I grew up idolozing NBA players, despite never seeing an NBA game. When I first saw it I was SHOCKED. Guys missing wide-open shots, ball going out of bounds all the time, no defense, NO real team work like we in europe know. Here, if there is some ball movement and an open man gets the ball, he usually makes it, and sometimes misses, but in NBA they miss terribly. Ball hitting the side of the backboard, rim, AIRBALLS. I have never seen an european player shoot so bad.

As I hope your peanut-sized brain can understand, none of the SPANISH players (yes, Spanish) qualify under those two as "American." Same as if you were to come work in Spain (God forbid), you would be an American worker in Spain, not a "Spanish worker".

I grew up idolozing NBA players, despite never seeing an NBA game. When I first saw it I was SHOCKED. Guys missing wide-open shots, ball going out of bounds all the time, no defense, NO real team work like we in europe know. Here, if there is some ball movement and an open man gets the ball, he usually makes it, and sometimes misses, but in NBA they miss terribly. Ball hitting the side of the backboard, rim, AIRBALLS. I have never seen an european player shoot so bad.

I agree. In american basketball there isn't a developed defense concept and teamwork almost doesn't exist. In europe you can see players playing as a TEAM. It's an interesting fact that countries like Spain (46 million people), Lithuania (3 million people) or Greece (11 million people) can beat USA or at least give them problems. We must remember that in USA there are 306 million people. It's obvius that if there're more people, there're more basketball players. Can you imagine an Europe team?
