You're better off getting an AUDI a8, which was built on the same platform as the Phaeton, but better build quality. The Phaeton was an over engineered VW that no one wanted - because it was a VW.
A great commercial for a great car. It's a shame so few were sold here in the U.S. Actually, considering the drop-dead depreciation of the cars that WERE sold here, it has to rank as the used car buy of the century. I'd love to join the club...

It did not sell very well in Germany either. Perhaps that is because it does not really look much different than a middle class Passat.
