  • RIP Jerry...now you see again Lenny...

  • Jerry Hadley's voice had the light of day

in it! The moment he begins to sing,

I hang on every word, breathe with him,

feel with him because he is so haunting,

compelling, and sings with such great

beauty and honesty! Thank you, MrC,

    for this true gem!

  • You're right! From the first note, it was incredibly brilliant.

I can't believe all the years of listening to tenors I experienced without even knowing of Jerry Hadley!

  • Actually I think he was under rated even in his prime when you think about it. I realized it when I heard him live in the house in Chicago IL.. and in his home state around Chicago he was very popular, liked and well known by all.

  • Well she did sing Tosca in Los Angeles in the late 80's with tenor Neil Shicoff and thats a Soprano role.

  • @halavey Tosca has been done by a lot of Zwichen's -- Grace Bumbry for instance.

  • Maria Ewing has been both soprano and mezzo? Am I wrong?

  • When was this? Thanks, excellent.

  • @halavey 1988.

  • @MrCafiero Thank you so much for sharing. Do you also happen to have Jerry Hadley's "Ingemisco" too? And if you do, would you be kind enough to upload it, please? I just heard a few seconds of it on the radio, and that was enough to make me anxious to listen to the complete version, but no luck so far :-(

  • Very fine.
