  • type "who really gives a shit about a 5ft 5in guy dunking on a 10ft hoop."

    Seriously.. who?

  • even in your rookie season,MJ is unique.I like game's kobe a lot but jordan is no comments!

  • MJ as a rookie averaged 28 ppg on 51.5% shooting, with 6 apg, 6 rpg, and 2.4 spg. Many people also don't know this, but he actually led the entire league in overall points in his rookie season. Good freakin grief that is just beast.

  • without jordan, no kobe, wade, or lebron, jordan is the greatest of all time, stats and winning combined proves this!

  • DAMN @ 2:05

  • type "short guy dunks" in the youtube search box to see a 5ft 5in guy dunking a 10ft hoop

  • if michael jordan did not retire the bulls would of won 8 championships in a row, but due to his fathers passing he walked away from the game and he tried to fulfill something personal. I stopped watching basketball the day he retired i was so fucken pissed he left the game because the nba was a piece of shit without him. But then he returned and after watching his first game back i had my doubts because he seemed too old but he still owned even in his mid 30's, kobe in his 30's is not as good.

  • @Renegades182 your lying kobe is good in his 30s hes won 2 titles in his prime

  • i grew up watching both Jordan and Kobe. I was born in L.A. and have live in Chicago since the age of 6. Kobe Bryant is my favorite all-time player but im going to be realistic and not talk dumb crap. Jordan is Jordan he is the best there ever will be. Kobe is always going to come second to Jordan because thats just the way it is. Jordan on a scale from 1-100 is a 100 Kobe is a 99, and thats how it is.

  • I grew up watching Jordan, so naturally I watch Youtube videos of Jordan........Why are Kobe homers on every single Jordan video?? Ohhh that's right, to see what his God looks like..It all makes sense now.

  • this is 1984, dont complain about the footage

  • is MJ wearing Nike Air Force 1's before Air Jordan?

  • Comment removed

  • @weaverb1227 kobe scored 63 ? agaisnt bird michael lol?=

  • @TheBladeozan i meant jordan lol

  • @weaverb1227 :p

  • 5:27 is that jumpman logo ?

  • im not pickin sides but i dont like how kobe was labeled a selfish player when lookin back jordan broke 2000 attempts several times and kobe never has. micheal scored alot but it seemed like he shot alot too

  • @bobmoore20

when you shoot over 50% FG percentage, why not shoot alot?

  • 9:21 - Mike is playing in his banned Air jordan 1's omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 8:40: world b. free, trying to cover michael jordan; free was at the foul line, michael was behind the three point line, and free was STILL backing up, and jordan still blew past him.

  • the dunk at 2:07 is nasty

  • great movie

  • There is no Kobe, if Jordan never played. The league grow so much with Larry Bird and Magic, but Michael pushed the evolution of basketball forward a generation. Kobe patterned his playing style and even his mannerisms after Jordan, and there is nothing wrong with that. He simply was inspired by the greatest basketball player to ever play.

  • @JohnnyUltra305 cosign

  • I really wanna see the dunk at 7:23 in better quality damn it!

  • who's number zero

  • Top Vid.

  • Amazingly fast for a 6'6 gaurd. Fastest player i've ever seen at 6''6

  • he was too fast... in today's nba... there's no doubt he could put up crazier stats.

  • @waihong001 Michael would average 45 points a game in today's game!

  • @thewolfmanchu especially how soft the NBA got.

  • @thewolfmanchu That's a lie. Infact, in todays game, he would have never received the title "Air," because everybody can jump now. Not just one or two guys like back in the 80's.

  • @Legend1One

Oh god....There aren't many players that have a higher vertical than Jordan's.

  • @Legend1One Jordan didn't just jump high, he floated like a damn bird you idiot! He would suspend himself in air. Plus, Michael wasn't just a great dunker and showman, he was the greatest basketball player period. "He's like God lacing up basketball sneakers" -Larry Bird

  • Best movie i have ever seen from NBA was at NBAPremium(.)tk it was so freaking great

  • watch lebron james pooped its funny

  • watch lebron james pooped its funny

  • i dont remember alot about the game - that was my first NBA game ever and i was just in awe - i just remember getting the ticket outside the Stadium for 5.00 off this lady who couldnt use it. I believe i didnt even get into the game until midway thru the first quarter.

  • starks23 sweet video, reminds me of myself - haha. I'm five'seven and I am able to double pump dunk. I used the famous training plan that pro players including Kobe Ray Allen and Areans used. Check out the program at - 50inch vertical[dot]com

    Michael Jordan Rookie Highlights

  • 5:28  == Jumpman-Logo???

  • imagined if jordan was permanently injured from that fall at 0:44 and his career ended. hmm. basketball would never be the same..

  • That's deep man.

  • best body control in the league ever!

  • 43 - 45, that backie was hard

  • Great video - i was actually at this game that night - i was a Junior in HS - I got a ticket for 5.00 that night Mid Level mid court - I kept that stub in my wallet for many years until I sold the ticket on Ebay back in 1998 or so. Should have kept that tix. But I did get 300.00 for it.

  • so you're about 38-40 years old?am i right?

  • im 42 yea why?

  • ooh nothing ;D

  • I was at this game, too. I was a freshman in HS at the time. I remember it was a Friday night. My dad got tickets that morning! I thought when Ruland knocked MJ down, he was really hurt!! Do you remember the San Diego Chicken geting BOOOED!?

  • Absoluetly the greatest but my man chuck and his sixers stole the show...well at least borrowed it between the 7:54-8:20.

"that's god disguised as michael jordan"

--larry bird after mj dropped 63 on him in his building

  • aw man, this is some classic footage.

  • great vid great MJ the best ever

  • "May eventually be great for the game."

LOL! How funny was that comment, little did he know MJ would become the GOAT!

  • Is it a bird?! Is it a plane?! NO! It's Superboy!!!

Thx for sharing the young mith about a boy that teached all how to fly!

That's why this is his game! MJ absolutly WOW!

  • you mean superman

  • No, I really mean Superboy as he was still a boy in this clip. He became Superman a few years later. Here he's still lifting trucks and cows, jumping through field to field without really know his true power. Later on he went to the Chicago tribune (aka Daily Planet), wrote to millions around the world and flew throught out his little farm boy story to a galactic odissey. Yes, all we are boys before man, and Jordan was a boy too, only he was Super, most of us are only mortal. Up Up "Air" Away!

  • Haha, great comment!

  • jordan play with brain and skills!!!

    he is unbelievable!!!

    just the GOAT

  • at 45seconds terrible call

  • agreed. kobe, lebron, or dwade can have 2 more steps than mike got and still not get called

  • The beutiful thing about this video is not only the highlights of MJ but also the other greats of that era. Great Vid

  • You all are dumb the game has totally changed it's impossible two players from two different eras. Hell just watch the behind the back shots they do in hockey now. People are stronger, faster, and better conditioned across the board now days. This imaginary game will never happen and if it did lets just remember one thing. MJ never lost a one on one game in his prime but there was never anyone on his lvl at that time either.

  • at the end of the video the reporter states - 'Mr. Jordan might one day...be great for the game'. LOL possibly the biggest understatement in sports history.

  • Im just watching these videos on MJ and all i seen is oh Kobe cant be like mike or Jordan would school him. It gets old. Why cant people just comment on this video saying thats when basketball was fun to watch MJ was great. Instead of comparing the two. And dahoss65 i know alot about basketball then you think so dont call me out like im a fucken kid!

  • See again you compare the two. We all know Jordan was better then Kobe is now. So who gives a shit. And im not crazy people who just keep brinhing up Kobe to Jordan r crazy. And 24 years old dont mean shit i watched basketball since i was 5 i remeber alot of Jordans games plus i watch alot of his videos and research great players i love basketball. And who cares if Jordan would own Kobe we all know that! Its just you cant ever seem to respect Kobes game thats what makes me mad. your stuck on MJ

  • Why the hell do you all compare the two just leave it alone the whole Jordan Kobe thing. This is a video of Jordan not Kobe.

There both great players cant it be that way instead of oh some ones better. I grew up watching Jordan and ya he was great. And now i watch Kobe play hes also good. And then people say Kobe try to be like Jordan. No its people like you who compare the two. I think people hate on Kobe because he can do what Jordan did better then anyone one esle now days without even tryin

  • Your crazy man!

  • MJ would make Kobe look like a third grader without breaking a sweat

  • mj is way better than kobe

  • you're crazy. but you are entitled to your opinion

  • fucking shit, people can't sense sarcasam this days

  • You are just a 24 year old chump that grew up watching Kobe. Ive seen both Kobe AND Jordan. There is no comparison, Jordan would own Kobe.

  • IM JUST KIDDING. I purposely set up my comment so i look like a total dickrider. i dont actually like kobe i just made this account so that dicksuckers mite listen to me.

  • @dahoss65 Jordan is the greatest ever, but to say there's no comparison is just a lie. You can't deny the similarities between Kobe and Jordan in terms of basketball skills. Their styles are identical, both with a killer mentality, and a will to win like no other.

  • @dahoss65 jordan's stronger and creative . kobe learned the game watching Mj

  • This is when there were men competing in the NBA...now it's a bunch of kids, so the game suffers.

  • thanks hoop

  • can you say wade?

  • I like how at the end of the video it says "So the game is good for Mr. Jordan, but Mr. Jordan may eventually be great for the game!" I'd say that was a great call! LoL

  • You guys know the truth!

  • but neither can Kobe

  • sick dunk 9:05

  • Crazy far for that kind of dunk!

  • anyone that compares kobe to this man needs his head chkd!

  • idk y ppl try n compare just look at the individuals and what they bring to the game of basketball...kobe, lebron, d wade are all good just like magic jordan and bird they are all different just appreciate their love for the game

  • Ouch. 0:45

  • nba was good then

    nuthin but sloppy ass

    half ass basketball

    no boxing out

    nba is jus sorry

  • ... and Dennis Johnson, Parish, Dikembe, Abdul-Jabbar, George Gervin, David Thompson, Moses Malone, Barkley. 22 of these 25 players listed are Hall-of-Famers.

  • holy shit lol pause it at 3:16 look at wtf MJ catches the ball for the dunk lol thats far.

  • God

  • Jordan played soo many of the greats and beat them like Magic, Bird, Wilkins, Dr J, West, Robinson, Clyde the Glide, Isaiah T and so many other amazing players. Jordan truely is the best of all time.

  • ..... and Hakeem, Ewing, Joe Dumars, McHale, Worthy, early Shaq, Shawn Kemp, Mugsy Bogues, Mookie Blaylock. Just so many awesome players he faced.

  • WOW this is soo coool man!

  • Godsend

  • epic

  • Damn! And the reff called for traveling! 00:39 How stupid. It was clearly legal!

  • Yeah that was weird. But back then they were much stricter with the traveling calls. You could do something that every player in the league does today and get called for it all the time back then. Too bad they went from being too strict to not strict enough.

  • Hell yeah Jordan didn't give a fuck he block 7 footers dunk on them didn't matter but since he was so dominant and ferocious in the beginning he got big time injured and had to set out a whole season with broken foot and might of been another injury Jordan was definitely a beast!

  • Nique at 5:00 NASTY!!!

  • wow so MJ's first ever NBA dunk attempt nearly killed him.

  • damn !! jordan was a beast when he was a rookie,yo str8 up,, the early days/prime time jordan, would school lebron and kobe

  • AWSOME, i ve never seen some of those shots, great stuff

  • oh my!!! 2:10 and 5:00

  • Comment removed

  • Till today no other [layer has made what micheal did. He and only he guide the Bulls to all the titles.... Kobe is not doing it anymore...!

  • kobe never guided the lakers by himself to the titles it was all shaq

  • lol those days where makin out what was on the tv was the hardest thing in the world

  • The picture quality on TV was very very good but RECORDINGS were not the greatest and fade through time. TODAY RECORDINGS are digital.

    DING DONG!

  • his airness

  • 3:16! 3:16! 3:16! I have never seen that one before! Amazing!

  • opening nights can be decieving. cuz iverson had 30 against the bucks in his first nba game.. almost doubled jordan's points, but we all know the deal with them all time.

  • That dunk at 7:22 is BOSS. Maybe the tightest Jordan dunk I've never seen before

  • MJ destine 4 GREATNESS!!!Damn he led the team wit pts, steals, assist & 2nd n rebound'n!!!He put n work

  • Why did they do a jump-ball on the free-throw line? Does anybody know the rule for that?

  • There are 3 circles on a basketball court, half court and the others on the free throw lines. Jump ball to start the game. During the ball game when a jump ball situation arise, example: when opponents tie up the ball; depending where they are at on the court the refs call jump ball and the players go for it again for a fair situation. Sort of like hockey. NOTICE: International rules jump ball at the start and at half time of a game.

  • only prooves he is the greatest..Lebron or kobe shouldnt compare with this guy..

  • doesnt prove shit... jordan was in a league with scrubs... of course u can take any pro player now and put them back then and they would do the same thing

  • I've been watching NBA since the 1980 and I can tell you the TRUTH. The league is soft now especially with these weak rules and the players then would have chewed today's NBA Players Alive. One truth is you have NO IDEA what you are talking, also you know nothing or have never played real basketball in your life. No harm intended and I still like the fellas who play today but they are not HARD at all and not focused to want to WIN.

  • The game was rougher back then no doubt! But if you think that Kobe, Lebron and TMAC couldn't have balled back in the old days you are crazy! Todays athletes are faster, jump higher and are just more skilled then the players of old! Thats a fact, its evolution!

  • damn straight

  • .......lmao lakersmydude by scrubs you mean larry bird, clyde drexler, hakeem olajuwon, charles barkley , kareem abdul-jabbar, magic johnson. I guess if you put somone perhaps "KOBE" in this period i'm guessing he would dominate over these "scrubs" huh? P.S STFU bias Lakers Fan

  • 6:25

  • yea if you pause at 2:16 it looks like the Jordan logo

  • holy shit back then his bodyfat was like 0.01

  • holy shit! 2:16 is insane

  • he's so quick, smooth and stylist and of course skillful.

  • awesome vid..i love it!

  • People at Jordan's body at 3:15. SICK!!

  • Pause it on 2:17, hes a beast.

  • this quality is shit, even with the high quality icon

  • then dont watch it bitch

  • ay guys stop arguing and just watch the greatest of all time

  • who r u nigga u left a comment on my page

  • I miss watching MJ games

  • its funny hearing all that commentary on MJ as a rookie, as if those people knew at the time that he was gonna be special

  • lol damn MJ with the fade and part - 1:02

  • kobe fan where are they?? lol

  • lol jordan fouled out at 8:52, 9:06 was unbelievable thou, look at it as he leaps almost at the freethrow line.

  • later on he shot more and thats when his game was rea

    lly noticed

  • at 425 jordan steals the ball from current boston celtics coach doc rivers

  • That catch from 3:12-3:17 is rarely used. Beautiful!

  • lmao @ the Kiki Vendeheweghe hangtime comment.....

  • Wow...Mike hammered himself at 44 second mark! Far out...he went HARD to the rim! THE MAN!!!

  • Michael: The Greatest af all time, ever and for ever.

  • Yes that he is.

  • Toward the end the person talking said "Mr. Jordan may eventually be great for the game". Little did he know Jordan would pretty much carry the league. To say Jordan was "great for the game" is a understatement.

  • what great footage dude. Thanks very much for putting it up.

  • Its amazing to see how the broadcasters go nuts

  • Dunk at 4.09.... WTF?

  • Players now have it so easy with the defensive 3 second rule and no hand checking.

  • michael jordan, greatest athlete of the 21st century!

  • 20th don t u mean?

  • yea 20th

  • 9:05...supernatural. That is absolutely ridiculous hang time. Looking at that dunk, u can see why its rumoured that NASA wanted to conduct an investigation on Jordan.

  • lol lol! :D

  • nothin better than that, mister jordan!!!

  • Hey thanks for the video starks!! Great footage...i enjoy watch the old school footage of Michael!!

  • 3:13

  • Brilliant.

  • oh my goodness 5:10

  • Everyone should do themself a favor and watch the whole vid

  • great mix

  • wow.. fantastic vid, man.. a very rare one

  • great video... thanks for the rare footage starks!!

  • the holley hoop at 3:17 i thought was vince carter vintage dunk...i never knew it was Michael Jordan who did it first.

  • Funny you mention that, the first time i saw that dunk i linked it automatically to VC's dunk too. But there's no doubt whose dunk i prefer MJ all da way. Its very rare i think i saw it b4 in a jordanlover23 vid
