Check out Acro Gym. It's a part of gymnastics where people do much more high level stunts than anything in cheer. Triple flipping baskets that land back on feet on hands etc.

@fightergrl29 i am in gymnastics, i have been for 14 years. i have been practicing cheer for 9 and won state this year with my school team. Cheerlearleading has gymnastics in it. you have to practice like a gymnest to become a cheerleader. no. are you a cheerleader and a gymnest? well im both take it from me and shut up. i know my stuff. i have actually gotten more injuries in cheer then gymnastics. cheer brings trust and team work too.

I am disappointed that the co-ed score sheets don't require jumps like the all-girl ones do. Jumping takes a lot of skill, so why not show it off? (They seem to be following the UCA style on this, which I guess doesn't surprise me given that a lot of UCA people are running the program.)

@gogems123 i totally agree. the guy speaking at the beginning is way more jacked than most professional football players. clearly you need to be in shape to be a cheerleader and do what we do. i'd like to see someone who thinks cheerleading isn't a sport throw a one to full at the end of this routine and see if they survive.

@93cheertastic When your this good you don't need Jumps. If they would have put more jumps in it probably would have increased there score but they already killed everyone else and took home gold so at this point jumps were unnecessary. We'lll leave jumps to canada! ha.

@JeauDacious Speaking as an american in the uk, there are some great teams here.but its a developing sport. America has had a headstart spanning decades so ofcourse they are gonna be better. I can count the number of cheer gyms they are in the UK on my hands. Now they do start cheer younger but most people dont get into the sport until they are in uni so ofcourse the UK is behind but they are catching up fast

I am loving Team USA cheer, never thought I'd see that day! LOL However, why aren't they competing Elite or one Elite and one Premiere? Not that this team isn't amazing but the USA is actually better than even this ... why limit us to one twist (tumbling) and all the more simplified stunts? Again, this routine is awesome and hard ... just saying, we can do even better so why not put it all out there! Hmmm, I guess it depends on who shows up to try out though, think I just answered my own ?

@Lunar1121 Premier is the highest division in this competiton. Elite is the less advanced division. So if Team USA competed in Elite, they would be competing way under their skill level. Also, Team USA is capable of a lot more than what they compete with. I think they are playing it safe because they can right now.

I think what really sets them apart is their transitions. The other countries are adapting to the stunting pretty well (tumbling too, but a lot slower)..but the transitions flow a lot better with Team USA.
