Does anyone know if the lads are wearing Magee pattern knit sweaters? I can just see my 2nd Great Gran Mary sporting one before her red hair turned white.
Is it only me to experience various videos stopping and starting throughout the entire clip? It's a stuttering singer and has reached the extremely aggravating stage. Terrific videos being spoiled by this hesitating.
@lilblubasterdify Another Tip.........Press the stop button (arrow) on the video ......give it 30 seconds to load & press play. We all suffer the same problems no matter what speed internet we have.
Tom was the "hardy heart" of the Clancy Bros. I loved when he introduced himself and his brothers on stage.... "..and last but 'most" I am Tom Clancy!"
Too bad he ignored some of the early signs of stomach cancer... he may have been with us a bit longer. God Bless'em All!
This song was composed by a man from County Kerry ~~ Seán McCarthy R.I.P. in the early 70's. (His brother Mick used to own a famous folk pub in Dublin, Ireland ~~ The Embankment,Tallaght)
It' s not of a bygone age. The singers change but the songs, stories and memories, which ignore borders, stay the same. That's why it's called folk music, the music of the people! RIP lads.
sounds like my lovelife these past four decades...no... actually better than my lovelife. At least he had an excuse; she's a redhead. Nothing better for the ways a man can get into trouble than a red-headed woman, and her sweet smile.
Nothing gets me going like a red-haired girl.

Can hardly believe they're all gone now! I grew up on The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. I knew the words to "Finnegan's Wake" before I could read.

Makes me fiercely proud of my Irish ancestry. No American should ever forget that it was Irish immigrants that built this country!
