This just adds to the fact that Where The Wild Things Are has gotten the essence of childhood down perfectly. Spike Jonze has created THE masterpiece; the innocence of childhood, the dark reality of it (divorce, your sister not protecting you, other downers), but the unending pursuit for happiness and a world unlike any other. Sad movie, but a very uplifting end that reminded me of that time I was young and my seatbelt wouldn't fit, but my mother still let me ride in the front seat of the car.

I was sitting here listening to this, trying to get homework done and working on a project about one of the worst events in history.
So while I'm editing and posting a bunch of videos, I click on this, and I just sit back and listen.
It made me cry and smile at the same time.

This just adds to the fact that Where The Wild Things Are has gotten the essence of childhood down perfectly. Spike Jonze has created THE masterpiece; the innocence of childhood, the dark reality of it (divorce, your sister not protecting you, other downers), but the unending pursuit for happiness and a world unlike any other. Sad movie, but a very uplifting end that reminded me of that time I was young and my seatbelt wouldn't fit, but my mother still let me ride in the front seat of the car.

I cried when Carol was crying from seeing Max leave. And this is my all-time favorite movie. I love it so much. Especially the soundtrack. It makes me feel that light, happy feeling.

Agree. I was just talking about this and things i missed when i was a kid that the only thing you were afraid of were the monsters in your closet and under your bed. Or falling off a bike.

I really do love this movie! ALL my friends hate it! They think that the movie ruined the book and the plot was stupid. I disagree! i love the movie! It reminds me of when i was young. I read the book as a child and i srsly HATED it! Parts i cried on was when he cried about his igloo. When all the wild things were mad at him. when carol cries.when KW says "Don't go,i'll eat you up i love you so. and others. OH and im doing a project on the songs. Tell me about your vision with one of the songs.

The part that made me cry was when Carol started crying, after he saw the heart with the 'C' in it. Seriously, makes me so sad. :(

For my birthday my family and I went to see this in the movies. My dad protested the whole way and promised he would def. fall asleep. When the movie finished we all looked over at my dad and he had tears running down his cheeks. When we left the theater that was the first day my dad ever talked about his childhood and he told us some pretty funny stories along with a few that weren't so cheery. My dad went to see that movie two my times by himself and later got the dvd. Who knew...

After watching the movie then hearing these beautiful songs it made me appreciate the love and loyalty I have with all my friends. I just picture us all laying in the grass looking up at the sky to this song. <3

amazing movie, heartstopping soundtrack,
theres one tune that i cant seem to track down though, its the one just after carol says "fine, il be on my own side" after he breaks the houses, the tune is playing as Max runs in towards the Wild things, Carol is talking over the tune saying something like "and you just stand there, and talk about me, like you always do" to judith. if anyone knows the name of this track,please comment! thanks!

I didn't cry when he left his friends, and I was laughing at my friends for breaking down, and then the look on his mum's face when he got back just made me weep like a baby xD

@goldfishinaglass hehe, the only film ive ever cried in is harry potter, and trust me ive seen sadder movies like the boy in the striped pyjamas, but the bit when he leaves his friends made me cry mainly because the emotion seemed so real xD haha and eyah that bit with his mum is sad too :') cute movie

I'm the same, i've seen some amazingly powerful movies. But the only ones i've ever cried in was this one and pokemon - mewtwo's return. but in my defense my dog just died XD

I've heard people say that there should be a sequel to this movie but I think with movies like this there are some things better left unsaid......just leave it like it is.

when max was leaving to go home at the end. in my head i was like.. don't leave! the adventures that they have and the vibe is all i would love to have. i would never leave them.
