  • this is my favorite scene, much much better than the hot sex scenes together times 1000

  • This is an excellent performance by Tanq Wei and Tony. Even though she sang a bit offbeat and the editing is not with out glitches, the subtle emotion of both persons is very dynamic and touching. Tang Wei transpired a sense of understanding and compassion which Tony should have felt. Worth watching it over and over, and listen how a song can be that powerful. Compare to other singers who have music accompliment and beautiful graphic, Tang's song stands out , definitely.

  • 人生呀~谁~不~惜呀~惜青春

  • Tang Wei is WAY better than that slutty desperate sell out called Xiyi Zhang. 100 % more classy

  • The mamasan has also played the japanese translator in the movie lost in translation...

  • "They sing like they are crying. Like dogs howling for their dead masters."

Just perfect. I recently saw the movie and it was an impeccable experience. Very good actors, very good plot, everything was so great.

  • Reminds me of Chinese Opera in the 80s

  • 這真的是她本人唱的嗎?很好聽耶~

  • This is my favourite scene along with her perfume scene. Tang Wei is so beautiful.

Tony and Wei are both great actors. Thanks for uploading.

  • So so beautiful

  • 如果是這個標題其實不用截這麼長....我前面等得有點不耐煩

    不過先適應一下劇裡的氣氛也好

    每次看到色戒心中總是很激動!

  • this is my favourite scene of the movie. And Lust Caution is probably Tony's greatest performance ever. And it's really something when u consider Tony can't really speak Mandarian well.

  • whr can i watch the full movie? rly wna watch it :)

  • 梁朝伟演得真好,那表情多丰富,演出了内心的复杂。

  • This is actually my favorite scene of the whole movie. Very simple, but contains so much intense emotions. 梁朝偉 and 湯唯 fully expressed deep emotional feelings, not through words, but through the facial expressions and body languages. Listening to 湯唯's singing and watching the looks they exchanged makes my heart ache for the both of them and bring tears to my eyes.

  • Absolutely agree this is a beautiful scene in the movie! I hope that more movies like this are made. As there is so much period atmosphere captured in this movie. Just wonderful! And that with out being a Hollywood action orgy!

  • In dawning days, this is a classic, it rivals possibly even beats the need of patriotism and affections thay a film like Casablanca can imagine, though that too has excellence.

Tang Wei and Tony Leung do wondrous acting work here, life for the Chinese was not exactly easy for the people of China under the merciless and rotten and evil Japanese Military regime.

  • 湯唯好有古典美

  • I love the movie and this scene. Tang Wei is beautiful.

  • Tang Wei's character sings a classic Chinese folk song for Tony Leung's character in Ang Lee's "Lust Caution." The song is called 天涯歌女, which translates to "Wandering Songstress."

  • one of the greatest movies of the last years !!

  • one of my favorite scenes from the movie

  • The singing scene made me cry..

  • I completely agree with Noor; it's an amazing, packed scene. I can't believe her voice! Some say she's not comparable to Zhou Xuan, but I think she's amazing, her voice is just a little different making the lilts a little more noticeable. She's so talented, being such an amazing actress and being able to sing like that. And she's beautiful ontop of that.

  • tang wei's singing is still not comparable to zhou xuan's.

  • definitely the best scene in the movie. leung is amazing

  • This scene made me cry the first time I saw it. He starts off laughing at her and by the end he's in tears. You can literally feel his pain. Tony Leung is an amazing actor - he does it all with facial expressions which only a very few handful can do these days.

  • a) a beautiful woman

    b) a talented artist

    c) a voice so clear a crystal bell would sound along with it

    d) in short: more Tang Wei!!!

  • wow! nice one. this is one of my favorite chinese movies. thank you very much for uploading this on youtube =)

  • tang wei is beautiful

  • A sentimental scene. A history of sorrow and tears for all Chinese in the Pacific War.

  • I just LOVE how this movie- and this very scene- makes a HUGE contrast between sly and intelligent Chinese women, and the docile, subservient Japanese women! It really helps non-Asians tell Asians apart! I wonder if Ang Lee even deliberately did this. :D

  • kimonos are quite beautiful I think. Japanese songs sung in this kind of places are mostly of minor keys, that's why they sound so sad, like crying, And kneeling is by no means being subservient, it's just a Japanese traditional concenance, like western curtsey.

As a Chinese I like Tang Wei's song better, you can hear something happy about the song even though the lyrics is a bit sad. She sang very beautifully, and quite professional as well.

  • wow...that is my favourite scene from the movie. fantastic job!

  • she can sing soo beautifully

  • did tang wei sing that song herself?

  • i think she did.

  • Wat kinda subtitles is that!!??? all wrong!!!

  • fan-bloody-tastic! perfect filming in this scene.

  • Tang Wei is so talented that it's unreal... If I were a guy and her boyfriend, I wouldn't have broken up with her after the nude scenes... I would have been supportive and even proud that she acted so well in the film... But haven't heard much from her since the movie... Does anyone know if she's filming a new movie?

  • Her acting skill is one of the best. I was very surprised to know that this song was sung by Tang Wei herself.

  • I also shed my tear like Yangchaowei...

  • Thats hot!!!!

  • probably the most beautiful scene in the film...

  • ty for posting this with the eng. subs
