  • excellent video and good driving Henry. This vid reminds me of the GT races fron Spa

and Nurburgring etc. Exciting to watch good clean battles on track.

  • dam what happend at 1:36 ! ahah

  • I race legend cars, and i heard that they have a race their. is that true?

  • that is bad ass! Real Racing!!!!!!!!

  • Some fantastic racing there, couple of brilliant overtaking. Quite a few times you seemed to lift off coming out of bends, couldn't work out why?

  • Wow I stumbled onto this channel by mistake and found this insane video. Your speeds are out of this world and you were so close I was getting nervous but you have some real driving skills. You were so close to the Ferrari I thought you would pass it before the video ended. Great racing.

  • HOT!

  • Many thanks for all the kind comments. I'm not a games console player so when I fall off it bloody hurts :-)

This was filmed during a round of the GT Cuin which is a multi marque series. Being an older model 996 cup car my car is a Class 2. The 997 model GT3 is in class 1. We shared some meetings (and quite a few beers) with the Dutch Supercar boys in the past both here in the UK and also Belgium.

    Keep smiling everyone. Henry

  • @HenryGT3 watching this you didn't look too agressive untill the last two laps of the film. qustion are you aloud to bump and tap the rear of the other cars ? but you look increadable under brakeing. and why did't you dive bomb?

  • I forgot to ask.

Is that dutch supercar challange or what ?

  • Wow! Brands Hatch GP - nice track and run. Do you play Need For Spped: Shift? Of course, you can be much more aggressive as it is 'fantasy racing'. It was cool to see the real thing.

  • there was a bit of fantastic driving in there! you are really great to watch, and i agree with INeverSeenThisBefore, your speed into the corners is great.

  • @HenryGT3 - you are really aggressive and soo fast ! You are catching them all like you are GT1 car :x . Best wishes !

  • @porschemaniak Thanks for that. You're starting to embarrass me !! Keep smiling.

  • Yes, standard H pattern gearbox. Ultimately not quite as quick as sequential but supremely reliable and you can often drive round a problem, (I once ran the last third of a race there in 4th gear!!

Thanks for the kind words. Henry

  • I really enjoyed watching a clean and aggressive style. Your entry speed into the corners is awesome!

  • Nice driving. I assume you are driving a 996 Cup with the H-pattern manual?

  • Nice job man.

  • Once again many thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. Henry

  • Once again many thanks for the kind words, much appreciated.

    Henry

  • Woo Hoo!!! Nice driving! It's the 1st annerversity today :-D Cool vid! Love Porsches

  • Woo Hoo!!! Nice driving! It's the 1st annerversity today :-D Cool vid!

  • that was some nice driving!

    great overtakes as well ;)

  • Nice driving mate! You know the Lamborghini crash right at the end of the video, do you have any footage of that as I was the marshal that it nearly hit and have never actually seen footage of it.

  • @FelipeFan1 I'm afraid all I have is what's on video. You were something of a magnet that day. The Viper popped in for a quick chat as well !! Keep smiling. Henry

  • Hi Henry, congratulations on this! Well driven! I am using your video to learn the circuit for my first race there this weekend... THANKS!

  • THAT VID IS 1 OF MY FAVOURITES NOW

  • Awesome video thanks for sharing

  • I don't know what I like more your driving (also the yellow flag bits) or your comments. Good stuff.

PS. Only ever drove the track in rFactor.

  • Thanks for your kind words.

    Keep smiling

  • For some reason i was told marshaling for the 911's isnt to be recomended. So i decided to check out some vids first. Great racing and loads of overtaking considering Brands is meant to be a hard to take track. I'm looking forward to it now :) Good post and great Racing. It was obvious you backed off at the first sight of yellow flags and it good to know you guys do see us. (apart from the guy at 5.05 who seamed to have missed it the previous lap)

  • I can`t speak for everyone but for my part you are my eyes and ears. Going up Clay Hill at Oulton Park I`m looking at the marshal`s eyes. If he`s looking at me all is well, if he suddenly looks right then I know there`s an incident even before the flag is raised.

Go hug an orange person today :-)

Thanks turning up in all weathers, always try to wave thanks to everyone on the cooling down lap.

    Henry

  • Nice, 3:16

  • I did have a little chuckle to myself at the time.

He`s a great lad Alex, I`d passed him going into Paddock but met traffic at Druids, if I went round the outside I risked being pushed wide and losing the position, as it was I got hemmed in and he got along side me at Druids and we went round Graham Hill together. We were "together" along the Cooper straight, I braked a little early.

Fair play to Alex for not running me off the road on the Cooper straight ;-)

  • Forgive my deleting your comment, I`m a bit crap at all this:

We all know people and companies to whom everything is "Absolutely the best" no matter how good or bad reality is.

The trick is knowing good from bad in the first place. Then and only then can you decide how much substance you want your words to have.

    Henry

  • Sorry, just deleted a comment by L2allM :

I'm sorry you should probably not give personal information. It's hard to find people sharing that motto, I was slightly overwhelmed and impressed by that statement.

  • Both men genuinely share the same belief that the way to succeed is to be straight and honest from the outset, "if it`s second grade then say so, that way when you say something is good your words have substance. You also get the one form of advertising money can not buy - customer satisfaction, word of mouth and ultimately repeat business". Many companies pay lip service to this approach but few deliver.

    Is this your company?

  • Have I just joined a parallel universe somewhere!

Confucius say man who drive anti-clockwise round a clock-wise circuit unlikely to qualify on the front row of the grid.

As always keep smiling - Henry

  • dude, this 911 porsches are sick.i love the sound and the look of them :)

  • You can certainly see the appeal can`t you !

That tingle when you strike the old girl up, the harsh reverberation from the gearbox when you`re rolling round the paddock and pit lane and then it comes alive as soon as you clear the pit exit.

  • Oh yes by no means will any game come close to the real thing, Please don't think that I was trying to make a similarity!

Maybe one day when you need a pitcrew I'll come work for you:-) you never know...

  • A lot of the guys actually use video games to learn a new circuit before they arrive such is their accuracy.

To get the real 911 experience turn the heating up to full, wear 5 layers of clothes and a wooly hat - it`s a touch warm in there.

You should do a track day if you ever get the chance, you`d love it and don`t worry if you`re driving something quite normal, you`ll still have fun I guarantee.

    Keep smiling :-)

  • Enjoyed the video - great sound too.

  • Your ears are certainly ringing for a while if you haven`t got your radio ear-plugs in !

  • wow, every time i visit this circuit i just think its so beatiful, i can remember walking round the GP part of the track as the track was warming up and you could see the steam rising off, beatiful place, awesome track to drive aswell

  • Definitely, the Grand Prix part of the circuit is special both from a spectator and driver`s point of view. As a spectator you almost feel as though you`ve discovered a secret track amongst the trees!

I remember qualifyingat Spa very early one morning and the mist was vortexing off the car`s spoilers because it was really still. It was almost like driving in slow motion !

  • Wow very cool! Closest I can get to racing like that is Forza 2... :-( but anyhow very good video.

  • Thank you.

Obviously the post below outlines the differences between real life and Forza 2. Unfortunately you can just click restart when things don`t go to plan.

Anyway, hopefully one day you get a chance to drive the real circuit for yourself.

    Henry

  • surtees just died there

  • Sadly you are correct.

Henry Surtees, son of former champion John Surtees lost his life after a wheel from another car struck him at Westfield, the second corner in the video, during a race on Saturday. He failed to negotiate Sheene curve, the third corner in the video.

Brands Hatch already has a corner named after his father (turn 5 - Surtees). We will now remember Henry Surtees when racing there.

We know the risks but it doesn`t lessen the sadness when something like this happens.

    Henry

  • Great video, thanks for sharing!

  • My pleasure. A total bind having to go out there and make it as I`m sure you can imagine but it`s cross I bear ;-) I obviously get no pleasure.....

I`ll try to post some more up if I get a moment.

    Henry

  • Wow is that really you Tommy??

  • Possibly not, given my name is Henry :)

  • Great video . Was there spectating. The Gt cup always provides great racing and big grids, with great cars!

  • A gorgeous circuit, especially out round the back on the GP section,

  • It was filmed during a GT Cup race and the BMW is the class 1 Serverware BMW driven by Peter and Matt Seldon. Unfortunately it had a mechanical mishap just after exiting Graham Hill bend. The GT Cup, run by Bute motorsport features a number of marques including Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lotus, Corvette, Dodge Viper, Lamborghini, modified BMW & TVR. Some very close racing.

  • Sorry, I`ve just removed the question which was posted somehow.

  • Wicked day out, man!

  • Nice one. Great circuit BHGP.

  • A total contrast to the Indy circuit.

  • It's a shame they straightened out "Dingle Dell".
