This new album should be good, but I think if they tap into their more 'agressive' side, that could result in a total twist in their music style, which may be for the better, but maybe not. Usually when bands change their play style its not a good thing [look at Metallica's St. Anger album..... lol].

do you actually enjoy music? Or do you look for the similarities in bands and go "oh no, they're not 100% original i can't listen to them!" Honestly bands are gonna have influences and influences will come out in the music, but saying a band is trying to be something they're not isn't something you can say. Unless you heard Brent smith or any of the other band members say such a thing, your comment holds no value what so ever.

No actually he doesn't. Cornell sounds like he had cotton balls stuck in his throat every time he says something. Brent smith actually has a huge amount of singing talent inside of him. Some of the accents brent puts on his vocals can sound a little like cornell but let's be honest here. They're 2 completely different vocalists and songwriters.
