Come on people, this video is prolly like fifteen years old and yes that might have been perfection back in the days... Remember they didn't have our skis, their skis were straight and really long
Here's what the author said:Translated into English:
"Here's the video that every medium or good skier wishing to improve their knowledge [will want to study]. With slow motion and freeze frames, you learn all the techniques of intermediate and good for real ..."
So, people, the guy is demonstrating intermediate errors...making a very good job of showing how not to ski with perfection.
Or maybe it's really Italian? This one is certainly Commedia dell'Arte! I think he is Pantalone (e Pantalone paga!!!). I love the braggadoccio. This is real skiing. One man's bid for self-expression. Leave him to it.
(And Killy is the undisputed best ski racer of the 20th Century)
Did you see the kit Killy used - and the speed he got on it? Killy will always be the best ski racer of the 20th Century.
The clip here although posted in 2007 is very dated. It is circa 1978. There is a certain self mockery in the avalement piece when the demonstrator loses it backwards. It's ironic. I think it's French... Skiing is an art as well as a technique.
@chezman9 "visa vie", qu'est ce que c'est? If you don't know the language, don't try to impress people - you're achieveing a rather opposite effect...
As to the video, it's probably much better than average technique seen on the slopes some 20+ yrs ago. Looking at it today makes me chuckle, but like someone here commented those skis were very different.
Of course, his skiing is quite well, but I think perfection is too strong a word for his skills. In fact, when I go skiing, I see dozens of guys who match him up, and they don't make a video of their skiing. What comes to perfection is extreme skiing and that is a lot better than this

Terrible. Oudated technique. No knee bend, no power, no knee flex up hill, no carving.
