Damn straight.I can listen to this and Sepultura. If you don't have an ear for music, its just noise. If you always had hamburgers, you never knew what a steak was
I jammed with Charlie at Telluride around '87. Say hello for me. I used to do this tune also, I saw the MT band at Englishtown NJ with the Dead around '82.
@passover77 Actually, it was Andy Stein who played fiddle on the Marshall Tucker version. The album it was on was a double album. Charlie Daniels played on the live disc, Stein on the studio disc.
I would have to check, but I think its a Marshall Tucker original. That's where we heard it. It turned out to be a good song to do with bluegrass instruments.

period ! and toy is a GENIUS ! and has nothin to do with bein a redneck, THATS AN ADDED BONUS!

That was amazing. It's funny. I'm a metalhead from the north but any real fan of music appreciates good music like this.

This song was written by Toy Caldwell. The harmony on this version is great.
Charlie Daniels played the fiddle part on the album version and Suzanne played it just as good as he did. I wonder where she's at now.
