  • You are a true hero... When everything goes to shit you will be the one living the good life. I thank you for giving me the inspiration to now know what to do with my life... thank you. /Mikae from sweden. =P

  • @thecreeper1981 Thanks for the feedback and good luck!

  • I don't mean to sound like an old hippie, but why pay the man when you can do it yourself. As you we grow older we learn that all the junk we had to have turns into just that. Junk we have to take care of. Why pay rent on someone else's house when you can own your own land, your own house. If your living cost for rent, lights are say $1000 a month for the next 20 years. That's $1000 X 12 X 20 = $240,000 Start small and build up over years. Paying off our debts is killing us.

  • @johnnnyreb51 Debt is slavery!

  • Can't wait till your back goes out.

  • @chuckbyf1 If that is @ me, well, it did go out twice when I was building. Had to stretch it back to normalcy. It has been fine though, since the last time it went out like 5 years ago.

  • Really enjoyed this documentary Greg, the work you have put into this lifestyle has really inspired me. Hope to make it a reality for myself as soon as possible. Take care!

  • @mcdougal01 Good luck!

  • @davettalashley

All done, now, more or less...

  • Thanks for the inspiration. A few questions: you mentioned property taxes, so how much was your investment in land? Also, did you run into any problems with local building codes/inspectors or other government bureaucracy?

  • @428ghost

No problems with any inspectors or codes whatsoever. My investment was $1300 an acre back in 1992. I'm glad you felt inspired - that was my hope in making this video.

  • Amazing job buddy. Thanks for the inspiration. I myself am dreaming of the freedom, despite the labor, seriously and regrettably slowly selling my family on the simple concept. Informative and straight forward Thank You.

  • @JimmyFeign

Jeez, it's been a year and I am just reading this... sorry. Thanks for the positive words and good luck! Now that the work is mainly done, I am really feeling that all the effort was worth it.
