The information was on Capcom's website after the successful release of DMC4 and shortly after a Q & A with the creator of DMC. A question was asked by a fan if Vergil was Nero's father. The answer was a "we'll see" once we learn more about Nero in DMC5 and that was the promise we got for the next installment of DMC, but instead we got a reboot nullifying the previous games. So how they'll redo Vergil in this reboot/re-tell of DMC is anyone's guess.
@AnimeGirl1723 No technically saying dante was way to young to be nero's father's bro and if you have ever noticed in the cut scene when angus stabs him he says get's yamato sound echo's "KYRIE RUN" "RUN" implying nero was protecting her from a monster and after that he says "from that day forth my arm changed and voice echoed in my head "POWER GIVE ME MORE POWER" that's exactly what vergil used to say in dmc3 so somehow after the death of neloangelo he possessed nero's arm
But aren't they much older and just look young? I mean, demons age slower than humans. In DMC4 the guy in white (his holiness) said that Sparda came to the world 2000 years ago. I don't know what to say, cause I saw that on their website. I've been trying to find it again, but have failed. Now, I regret not bookmarking it when I read it.

Okay, so the gameplay looks awesome, but judging from the brief gameplay it looks way too easy. That "new guy" is not Dante in my opinion. It's a whole new character in a new storyline that has been overplayed so many times that I can already guess the ending. But, what I want to know is how come they changed his voice actor. I mean if they're going to revamp him than why not at least keep his voice actor. I don't know, but that's too much change for me. I liked Dante the way he was.

That would completely suck if he did, 'cause I wanna see more of Vergil in the DMC storyline. Probably as the Dark Angel of the undead. The DMC storyline can not get any worse if this was true and we won't be seeing anymore of Vergil in DMC. Huge Epic fail on Capcom's part. Again, I said "If". =P

For some reason, Capcom thought it wasn't reaching enough Western gamers and wanted the game to appeal to the U.S fan base by making him look more bad ass. I don't understand why I liked the old Dante. Ninja theory added the fighting style, but it was Capcom that insisted on the revampness of Dante.
@sandell321 Vergil isn't evil, he's misguided. The reason why he thirsted for so much power was how he was taken from their mother, and the fact that they both were too weak to fight back.
He covers up his guilt with a cold guise. That's all. He's a good person, I think, just...different from Dante. Vastly different.
