  • i think the problem's not the stride lenght. Thing is, the fetlock joint snaps back to pointing the hoof down after the hoof leaves the ground real fast but the whole leg itself moves fairly at the same speed in all it's way from take off to landing to swinging back again. this is what makes the walk a perfect 4 beat gait. instead this horse is doing what is called "ambling" usually due to pain or stiffness or if you have a naturally gaited horse that was bred to do it.

  • OMG PEOPLE!! Don't tell the owner to fix things. You're like backseat drivers!! I mean seriously. You do it. T_T

  • @KodaMayLee It's okay, constructive criticism is good. :-)

  • @KodaMayLee people are only trying to help! the biggest flaw in today's CGI is the lack of realism in animal's movements. There isn't one single movie i've seen so far were the CGi's animals didn't look like they had serious ligament and muscle injuries! LOL! so if everyone was as keen at listening to cues and tips as the author here is, perhaps we'd have sound cgi's by now ;)

  • hmm a bit too massive hooves, no? ;)

  • Well...someone put a little liquor in the water tin ^o^

  • Charlie the unicorn :D

  • Okay, good job on the animation, really, but don't be offended if I suggest watching some real horses walk around a little more. the stride is a bit long and is a bit jerky, but other than those few things great job.

  • LOL he looks drunk

  • lol haha cool

  • sweet

  • looks likes hes pulling something

  • HE'S WOUNDED!!! But nice try.

  • He looks wounded.. like he's leaning on his front legs..

  • You need to shoot him.

  • He got better. ;-)

  • Lol! well than ^_^. Goodluck and have fun with animating.

  • Thanks. :-)

  • @Mellthorn HAHAHAHAHA

  • It looks like its limping

  • looks tired

  • poor mare is esousted

  • I love that it's so realistic and the horse movements are really good, but it just seems that the horse is having a hard time walking. But other than that, it's amazing!

  • cute, looks like the hoofs are to heavy for him

  • lighting is better then animation !!

  • just my opinion... i dont think the horse's hinds are far enough under. I know lots of people are trying to pinpoint what looks wrong with an otherwise awesome animation... i think its the hinds trailing that makes it look like its 'drunk'

  • lol, drunk horse :D

  • he looks like he just ran around the world 50 times and went lame. but i couldnt do even a 5 that good so well done

  • She looks like she's in pain

  • Really cool! How long did that take you?

  • He looks a bit like he has something with his back legs, but he looks so pretty you almost don't notice that <D

  • I already posted saying that he has labored movement, but it also looks a bit like he's constipated... no offence to the creator tohugh.

  • None taken :-)

  • omg awseome

  • Awesome Walking, Very animated looking:)

  • So cool! Very realalistic!

  • Again ... heavy feet

  • Pace too short? Feet need to be up longer, maybe?

  • well no .. i think the pace is too long, its making it look like the horse is stuck in the mud .. Im not saying its bad, its BRILLIANT, ABSOLOUTELY FANTASTIC, but its just these teensy wees=nsy wee thing .. ^^

  • Okay, thanks :-) Yeah it's much more apparent to me now. I made a few tweaks and posted an update not so long ago.

  • great! Im glad I didn't offend you, coz I didn't feel right after posting it .. Its absolutely(sp) brilliant, best one Ive seen in a while ...

  • nice, but it kinda moves like a dinosaur...know what i'm sayin'?

  • I have NO clue about this stuff, but, ma yI suggust, when you animate it, don't make the horses legs go back so far. Plus, maybe slow down the front legs a little.

  • Thanks. I think you got something there. :-)

  • the pressure on the legs make him look either uncomfortable walking or very labored movement.

  • Well observed, thanks for the critique. :-)

  • Really nice work. I have to get a horse rig done for one Iv started making (school project). Do you think youd be able to help? Im willing to pay :D Message me

  • You'll get really good! I don't have the slightest idea how to do that! I can only do 2d!

  • It's an angry horse

  • Didn't really intend to give a mood - still learning that - but I guess so... :-)

  • pretty good

  • Thanks. :-)
