DTDoutdoors21: I live in arizona and the state does not currently have a youth bull elk hunt, only youth cow elk hunts with a rifle. Bull Elk weigh up to 1200 lbs.and are some of the toughest animals in north america and 40 pounds will not be enough to effectively, humanely kill an elk. To kill an elk I would reccomend you shoot a 52 pound draw weight minimum. And DO NOT shoot mechanical broadheads if youre pulling under 60 pounds. I hope this helped you... good luck getting a tag

I am going to try to get drawn in the next years arizona youth bull elk hunt.But can somone tell me if a 40 pound draw weight is bigenought for a bull.
