The lethal dose is massive. I doubt a human being could even consume that much. It's branded as incense so the seller can avoid the liability of the product. Why you wouldn't just make your own? You can produce it for less than a dollar an ounce, or buy it for thirty dollars an ounce.

@JustinC721 Yes I can't see much harm coming from the JWH family of compounds, except some of them that may have some rather nasty metabolites (these ones aren't popular or commercially available (you could however order a custom synthesis of them, but you could do that with any chemical)). But the dosage range for most of these chemicals is in the sub 10 mg range, so your exposure to any metabolites is fairly minimal anyway.

Most of them could definitely do with some more testing though.

Piracetam for example is a ridiculously safe drug (as are other racetam-based drugs) .
