Artists need to change. If they stayed the same throughout their whole career people would get tired of them. Kanye's style has changed but I think he is still brilliant. @MmoDude I thoroughly enjoyed Watch the Throne, mostly because jay-z and kanye gave the music world a taste of real hip hop, as opposed to the garbage that we are exposed to nowadays. I really can't complain too much about it. However, I agree, it doesn't live up to the content of his other albums.

LR, Graduation, 808s ( underrated ) and MBDTF were amazing albums. Amazing. WTT was average.
He is still the best mainstream rapper. He has no subpar albums.

@MmoDude One of the best producers ever. There are better rappers though, how you can say he is better than Nas or Jay-Z or Eminem is beyond me. His strength as an artist has always been in creating tunes not rhyming.

@MmoDude Nas is hardly underground is he? Spent enough time on the Billboard 100 to be considered mainstream. I'm not a big fan of Jay-Z but his best rapping is definitely better than Kanye's. Eminem did fall off but I am not saying every album he has done has been better, I'm just saying that Eminem at his best on albums like The Slim Shady LP is a much better rapper than Kanye has ever been. Kanye is great as an artist but as a wordsmith there are quite a few better.

@MmoDude But realize, his entire style has changed, which is what people like me dislike. His delivery went from being clever and metaphorical to very basic. His 1st 3 Albums were classic, 808's was him wanting to try a new style, which is cool, but his lyrical style is what made him a good rapper in the first place. "she couldn't afford a car so she named her daughter Alexis (A Lexus)" or "...some of them dyslexic ...favorite 50 Cent song *12* questions"??? he doesnt do this anymore

@MmoDude I thoroughly enjoyed Watch the Throne, mostly because jay-z and kanye gave the music world a taste of real hip hop, as opposed to the garbage that we are exposed to nowadays. I really can't complain too much about it. However, I agree, it doesn't live up to the content of his other albums.
