  • Just stumbled on this. Great rendition. Always liked Lou, but was surprised at how good a performance he rendered here... exceptional!

The female in the vid is also a stunner.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Have never heard this before! Not sure if I want to hear a different version. The video is so well directed - the seagull at the end - the flashbacks - truly a work of art. Please do not stop posting these treasures. I hope Lou doen't stop performing, I do so wish to see him perform in person.

  • when was this version recorded?

  • Always LOVED Lou Christie but never heard his version of this. In love with him all over again!!

  • Nice job by Lou but Johnny Ace`s version will always be number one!

  • This song is so fabuLOUs that it makes me want to cry!!!

  • Is it me or this melody is a rip-off from PP&M's "Stewball" -or viceversa -?

  • What a romantic man!! I'd love to walk that shore with him..........

  • This song is so beautiful--and Lou does such a fabuLOUs job. (but then...he IS Lou Christie!!) Lou, you gave me the chills with this one.

  • Johnny Ace made this a hit.....one of the best.

  • i actually really like this version.

  • snarfelhamana---thank you so much for sharing this beautiful song and sad but fantastic video. Lou looks fabulous, as always. LouBaby, you made me cry! Love you, as always---forever.===Marilyn xxoo

  • @LousFool - I agree!! Lou touched my heart with this one!! I like both Elvis & Lou's version about the same. What a voice Lou has!!! I would love to see him in person.......

  • Lou Christie dose any amazing job sing this song However : I wonder how this song would sound covered by some Metal Band in the form of a Power Bald?

  • What a great video I have never heard Lou's version of this song. If I am correct, the original artist that made this popular in the 50's was Johnny Ace, who shot and killed himself after the release of this song.

  • thought Elvis is the best

  • Fantastic,,no words, even exciting, i mean this interpretation nearly brings into tears

  • Has this been released yet as I can not find it on Itunes? Please help!!!

  • Whoa! Nice interp! Listen to the Tenor Man! Thanks for posting!

  • I like this song the way he sings it! Right from the heart! 10 out of 10 points! Elvis version is great as well! GR77 of Alberta Canada

  • Congrats to Lou Christie.....Hall of Fame!!!!

    He deserves this honor!

  • All I can say is wow! That video was very moving.I had only heard Elvis' version which I thought was great, but this comes as a defenite second.

  • very powerful video! thank you Rick in West Haven,Ct

  • I love Elvis' version but never realized what a great voice Lou Christie has!!

  • Talking about singers of a "certain age"...I just saw Neil Diamond in Omaha at the Quest Center (19,000 screaming fans)....Neil is 67, Lou is 64ish....do you know if those two ever crossed paths? Just curious?

  • Both a fantastic, haunting cover,as well as a moody vidio. One of my favorite singers from the 60s,who still has it.

  • i love this oh so romantic sensual song...thanx ..i luv you Amer

  • Oops....type in 1985....

Leslie Gore and Lou Christie Medley...again...OMG!

  • Awesome

  • Type in the search box: Leslie and Lou 1986 Medley...

That is Lou at his very best. OMG!

  • Elegant.

    Thank-you for posting this video.

  • Rhapsody in the Rain, Lightening Strikes, Are You Getting any Sun Today, what happened to all of the weather songs?

  • Lou Christie deserves to be ranked right up there with the GREAT rock'n'roll singers.

    Brilliant version of this song.

  • And, why hasn't he? I think BellniNorma said it earlier....Lou must not "sell" himself like others. Whatever, this guy rocks!

  • I love the fact that he's a real person and he never forgot that.

What a great guy all the way round

  • Why does he look so pale and drawn here ?

In LIVE performances he looks great - here he does seem OLD ! Or is that the idea ?

  • This is going right on my iPod! thanks a lot!

  • This was incredible! 7 comments? I'm checking out your channel, 5 stars and faved! Thank you, this was a total joy!

  • Yep...just a great video. Lou is awesome.

  • OMG! I've always like this Johnny Ace hit, but you really kicked some new life into it! You sing it so sensual and smooth. Wow...I am completely amazed!!! Wonderul, wonderful job! I can't stop playing it over and over and over! Bravo!

  • I don't usually care for too many remakes, but Lou Christie has given Johnny Ace his due..beautiful job, Lou!

  • We can never go back to "those days" but like the song says "Always and Forever".

  • I normally don't like covers but this really grabbed me.

  • Beautiful song and a very good video. Bravo!

  • Fantastic video and a lovely song. Always been a fan of Lou and always will be!
