  • They both have there place don't they? The STi you have has been watered down compared to the 2004-2005. Those 2 years were the most aggressive of the STi's even up to today's standards. The STi in the video is my 2005. The Exige is a non-supercharged 2006. I respect them both very much but unless you are on a track the Exige/Elise becomes a useless car - being built from the ground up is wonderful for a dedicated track car, but you must have a track to be dedicated to ;) Thanks

  • @hondacrxdude I wouldn't say useless. It's definitely built with racing in mind but its still a blast on twisty back roads and mountains! Also with it's toyota motor, especially the n/a model, reliability isn't an issue unlike just about every other purpose built sports/super cars.

  • @HailUnc33 Definitely a blast on the right roads! I was referring to the practicality of it. No safety in case of an accident, 1 airbag, 2 seat belts, no bumpers reinforcements. Very storage room for picking up groceries. You get the idea. I love the car the way it is and as you already said with the Toyota engine, its an awesome match. You can drive that car as hard as you want and if you are worried about it, changing the oil is the only precaution needed.

  • @hondacrxdude Wow I didn't realize it didn't have airbags. Yeah you're right though the exige is definitely the hardcore lotus.

  • @HailUnc33 It has two airbags per Federal safety standards.

  • @hondacrxdude I work for a lotus dealer and have seen numerous accident damaged elise/exiges. The are remarkably strong with a composite crash structure at the front and a steel subframe that surrounds the engine. Rollover protection is also good. We have had a few that have rolled and they haven't even flattened the windscreen surround.

  • @hondacrxdude I've had both of these cars 2004 STi and now my race converted 2007 Lotus Exige S. I think both cars are great, the STi being more reliable for track duty but ultimately A LOT slower than my Lotus.

  • I am lucky enough to own an MY07 STI as well as a 2010 Lotus elise supercharged...both cars are stock standard...and the supercharged lotus is quicker in the dry, with the sti killing it in the wet. one thing though, the lotus is a sports car built from the tyres up to do one thing only...lap a circuit. the STI, while very quick in all conditions, is based on a car my grandmother owns. too many compromises in the STI while the lotus sacrifices nothing, and is by far my favorite of the 2 cars

  • that is the 220hp model exige s judging from the tiny roof scoop if it was the exige s240 it would have been a different story

  • @superjervis wrong! black side scoops and black aero give it away as a 2006, which is 190hp

  • @MrSelectAllFromDual lol,yeah..i figured that out.

  • @superjervis 2006 Exige had a roof scoop and was 190 HP normally aspirated. 2007 Exige S had the same roof scoop and is 220 HP supercharged (I have one see my videos). The only difference between the S240 (2008) and the S260 (2009+) is the roof scoop to improve air flow over the IC and change in injector size and fuel pump and ECU tune.

  • @robainscough i know all that,take it down!

  • Draging a Lotus is like cornering a Hummer...

  • STi eats Lotus's lunch.

  • @wonderbreadjumps

have fun being brain dead in a straight line still knowing you wouldn't be able to beat a lotus on the circuit where real skill is made. circuit racing is for real men who know how to drive and drags are for pansies who can't drive properly..

  • Wish it had been an Exige S240 insted of a normal Elise

  • @Ryan40272, I think this Exige had 190hp. I launched in my Sti as soon as the Exige moved as per my friends request in the Exige, He didn't want the Exige to look so bad :)

  • i guess its to be continued...... ?

  • dude thats awesome!:D i getting ready to buy my first lotus!
