The fact is a college coach named Barry Switzer came out of retirement and won in Dallas. I could have coached that team and won! Johnson had UM handed to him, too, thanks to Schnellenberger! Fans in Miami will NEVER forgive this snake in the grass for what he did to the Dolphins!

What Jerry Jones fails to understand is that he is not GM material. I love the cowboys with every fiber in my being but I can't deny the fact that they haven't been very good since coach Johnson left. Although they won a Superbowl in '95 I think they were lucky because they didn't have the mental toughness or discipline to win big games. And to this day they still don't.

Nail on the head about the team making the fewest bad plays. On paper,Cowboys have best stats each game. for one call each game,they could be 5-0. I think you have to attribute that to coaching. Phillips is a good coach,but not the caliber the Cowboys need with the youth and talent they have. If Jimmy had this team,it would be scary.

Free agency killed the Cowboys However I do think that we would have won three in a row has Jimmy stayed. The Cowboys were by far the best team in the NFL from 1992-1996 The 1994 season was a disapointment. 1996 was full of injuries and off the field antics. The Cowboys beat the Patriots and the Packers in 96. Jay's carrear ending injury hurt the Cowboys alot.

@BCKLW: It wasn't necessarily free agency that did-in the Cowboys, yes they did lose some players to fa. But it was actually the salary cap that ultimately did in the team of the 90s. I could remember before 2003 that the Cowboys owed over $20 million in dead money (for players no longer with the team).

Jerry Jones was an honorable owner until after 1993. Had Jimmy stayed on, they might have won 10 super bowls in a row. Well, @ least 4 in a row.

@BCKLW I would've love a Dallas-Green Bay game @ Lambeau!!! I highly doubt that they would've won. Remember, the Packers lost that game because their top receiver and tight end were injured!!! As a result, the Packers couldn't score. The 96 Cowboys couldn't generate offense the whole year!!! The Packers had their offense in time for the playoffs!!! That's why they've would've lost.

Man...it makes me crazy when I think of how many more trophys we'd have if we had never let Jimmy go or if we got him back instead of hiring Wade 2 years ago.
