GOW1 is still the most epic game ever.....the other 2 after it were also fantastic in every way, however if you ask my oppinion, I still think GOW1 was a better game....it's a true classic game that really gripped you

I'm having serious problems with the last boss battles (clones+last), and now my PS3 locked up when I finally defeated the clones so I have to do it all over again. That boss fight on hard alone is so badly programmed and left so much room for chance I can't even express it in words. It's not fun, it's just frustrating. This game was a 9/10 for me before the last bossfight, now it's a 6/10. I'll never pick it up or play it again EVER once I beat it. :(
The story of god of war series is so epic that it can be seen as a modern extension or spin-off of the original Greek mythology... And after 1000 years, people may study both of them together, why not :D

If the movie is as bad as the game it'll be like the mario bros movie. Or street fighter. The game is fun for 10 or 15mins but it's the most repetitive boring fest out there. People who like grinding out the same 5 enemies over and over should just go play an MMO least you can sell your account when you're done for some better money. God of war games are lucky to fetch $10.

If you've actually readthe story of Hercules it has many similarities to Kraytos story (madness made him kill his family - 12 trials for repentence - his death finally lifted him to immortality to become a "god") etc etc. the only "originality" part of the GoW story is Kraytos then killing the gods, which never happened in Greek Mythology.

I think the creators of this game got the main character's name wrong because it was Heracles who killed his own family and served the gods for forgiveness plus I don't think Kratos was an actual greek mythological character but still a very good game.

@csokolin Uhhh well it isn't real first off. Dark ages were around 500-900 AD, 1200 AD would be the medieval ages. Also since we are talking ancient Greece, this is probably somewhere between 400-200 BC. They don't give a date but Sparta was in it's prime around then, so it would be probable that if they were going to war with a large army it would be that time period. After roughly 200 BC, the Spartans population began to dwindle and fade.

@ghofspa1 In ancient Greek, anyone who wasn't Greek was called a barbarian. In fact, the word in Greek means "anyone who is not Greek". Any foreign cultures they met, e.g. Persians, Egyptians, Celts, would have been called barbarians. So in his case, barbarians were the ONLY opponents.

dont worry guys. i believe 80% or more that they will make a movie from the game. since they taken prince of persia. that gameplay is sortof similiar to god of war. since making god of war game a success. hollywood will turn it into a movie. but watch... they will not make just one. but they will make all 3. and since the 4th game is coming.... hollywood and the game creators will make so much money.

I think the creators of this game got the main character's name wrong because it was Heracles who killed his own family and served the gods for forgiveness plus I don't think Kratos was an actual greek mythological character but still a very good game.

Sou louco por esse jogo. Não tenho PS 2 nem 3, mas tenho um PSP que dá conta do recado. Zerei "Chains of Olympus duas vezes" no modo "fácil"
(em 5 horas) e no modo "normal" (em 8:45 horas), e já cheguei novamente na Persephone no modo "god" ou "very hard" (até agora são 13 horas parando somente pra comer dormir e tomar banho, se fosse à prova d'água...kkk). É muito escroto, ela me dá dois golpes e eu levo o farelo...mas não desisto, vou ganhar essa vadia kkkkkk

@csokolin Uhhh well it isn't real first off. Dark ages were around 500-900 AD, 1200 AD would be the medieval ages. Also since we are talking ancient Greece, this is probably somewhere between 400-200 BC. They don't give a date but Sparta was in it's prime around then, so it would be probable that if they were going to war with a large army it would be that time period. After roughly 200 BC, the Spartans population began to dwindle and fade.

@lmsneed130 They wannid to make him look unique and this was the design they chose. If you have the first game it has a section which shows all the initial designs for kratos. Its definatly the best.

Hey guys does anyone have a working version of GoW 1 ps2 PAL english? Can you upload it or if you know where i could find it could you tell me? I had it but in the version i have and the only version i can find online now there's a glitch at pandora's temple the skeleton guy does not show up and the game cannot move forward if he doesnt show :( Come on help a fellow gamer out :(

Hold up, I thought the Sirens where the people who dwelled in The Sea Of Monsters and lured sailors to their death. I also thought that Kronos was banished to the darkest parts of Tarturus after he was cut up into a billon pieces with his own scythe by Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades, just as Kronos did to HIS father, Ourones.
