Since I got confused who sang what first, I looked up the composer...

German producer Roberto Rosan composed "Super Star" for S.H.E. which became a hit in 2003. Roberto then had the lyrics rewritten for his Euroband, Sweetbox, as "Chyna Girl." Skye Sweetnam then re-recorded "Super Star" as "Superstar" in 2004.

And now we're here, talking about this in 2010...

The Song was originally written for the Chinese girl group S.H.E under the name "Super Star" title song for their 2003 album The same dude who wrote the song for S.H.E translated it into english, and gave it to the european group Sweetbox to sing, under the title of "China Girl". The song was once again covered by Skye under the title "Superstar" All three song alike, but I like S.H.E's version better!

The person who wrote the music for this song then changed the lyrics for the band Sweetbox (called Chyna Girl). Then in 2005, Skye did this song as a cover. You'd think if SHE did the cover of this song, they would've released it AFTER Skye did. So yes, i DO make sure whatever I write has proof to support it. I have heard S.H.E's version and it wasn't until recently that I heard Sweetbox had this song and from that discussion, I heard of Skye Sweetnam's verison. I already was a fan of Skye when I heard that, so i rushed to hear it, and I like it a lot. It sounds a lot like S.H.E's version, and I like that about a cover that if it is in a different language that the lyrics stay somewhat the same, then you can switch it up.

I listened to SHE's version of Superstar. To be honest, apart from the voices they sound the same. But SHE's version suits it more becuase their japanese and the songs sounds like the song that they sing better9it hrad to explain). But thsi version is still great. No offence to my favourite singer of all time, it was kind of stupid to cover a song taht your not going to change much, 'cos if you want to cover a song you should change it a lot so it sounds different.
