  • WOOOW. I haven't heard this in years. I think I was one of the only people in KCMO who knew about Mad Kap. I really loved this album. I miss this kind of hip-hop.

  • some more of those boom bap soulful raps. kikn it live for 90 deca. HIP HOP DONT STOP. peace.

  • Zhigge (Harlem High) did this sample MUCH more justice on the Boodah Nation 12"

  • hip hop 93, futuristic G!

  • DOPE MAN DOPE

  • The list of great but unknown rappers is endless. I always wanted to be one of those people who has heard of every single rapper but I can see now that would nearly impossible. Why did these cats never get disscovered. It's sad but at least here on youtube they can get some of the credit they truely diserved.

  • I couldnt have said it better...when I see some guy on youtube immediately i start looking for his album and then another guy pops out... so many rappers....

  • Well.. I wouldn't go as far as saying they" never got discovered " This video was aired regularly on Rap City back in 1993. Plus they were signed to RCA. Not to mention this was the follow up to their first vid " Da Whole Kit & Kaboodle". They had a good buzz for a minute, and thanks to Youtube and VHHS they will get the credit they deserve =)

  • @lilpuppet1992

Word. Youtube is the perfect outlet for talented, yet undiscovered, talent. Pity this medium only came around in the latest couple of years.

I'll bet all of my savings, had youtube been around during the 90's, the hip-hop scene would be entirely different these days.

Let's hope quality musicians such as 'Mad Kap' will be on the forefront of hip-hop music in the future.

  • @lilpuppet1992 the answer is simple...in the years 91 - 95 there were so many crews, single rappers, that you could choose whom you would listen to...thats why we got some well known rappers (those are the guyz who have sold their first album and could make another one, or the guyz who already sold some more) and thats why we got these other men, who made the album, but haven't sold enough to make a new contract...then they broke up and you'll never hear about them again...it's the industry...

  • @lilpuppet1992 These dudes got alot of props when this dropped...they got MTV play.

  • Of the blaze dayz with soul ,haters hear the horn.

  • Only rap group in history with a trumpet player!!!!

  • what about the roots i saw them with a fucking trombola and bagpipes once lol

  • Obviously Mad Kap swagger jackers! :)

  • tribe called quest, pete rock and cl smooth..its all about the jazz influences

  • Mad Kap was first to have their trumpet player as a regular part of the band back in '92 or so before the Roots dropped around 1993 or 1994.

  • one of the most slept on groups of the era!!!

  • Hypes me up but keeps me mello @ll in 1 !

  • shit is ill

  • i remember mad kap well from back in the day.

They had a good producer whoever he was?

Didnt care much for the white MC though.

  • Bitch please!!! you must be suckin soulja twerps di#ck hard!!!

  • Word up!

  • wrong not true!

  • obviously you need to hear Mad Kap's song "Questions" cuz i know you say that today's hip hop sucks but at least give props to pete rock son!!!

  • haha your profile is on all the classics. the gimmick is priceless

  • the fact that u exist with that kind of perception suckz. sad

  • wat da fuk u stupid todays hip hop aint even hip hop it aint got shit on da ol skoo u probly jus anotha solja boi lova

  • I miss the Balance in hip hop the 90's and the late 80's were a great era of hip hop.

  • Yo! Take me back to the summer of 93 why don't you! Haven't heard this joint in years. I've been seriously diggin in the crates for this one.

    Much props Vintage.

You got "Smooth, But It Ain't No Radio Jam," don't know the Artist? It's got the breakbeat from The Commodores, "Girl, I Think The World About You"

  • damn hip hop was badass! what happened??

  • Hip Hop is still bad ass but you have to really really dig for something new worth listening to.

  • You REALLY have to dig. A LOT. Maybe 2% of hip-hop being made today is good and I can vouch for the fact that someone old skool like premo produced it too.

  • Well to me the rest of that 98 percent isnt really hip hop to me so thats why I can say that it's still good this day. Yeah its not really being represented correctly by the mass media but thats a whole other discussion to get into.

  • Rap and Hip-hop today suck big donkey dick!!

  • damn i need the remix

  • this is called the show!

  • o my god itz like i cant stop finding ill ol school hip hop.........propz 2 my boy vintage 4 his collection

  • wonderful jazzy beat, I love this stuff.

  • man i havent heard this in soo long, this is when Hip-hop at its raw form in the early 90's i remembered this on YO MTV Rap and The BOX . this is Real hip-hop

  • Back when beats were unique, good and fresh. Back when mc's weren't all crammed into the same damn mold. Back before they were all saying the same damn thing. Thanks for putting this up. TRUE HIP HOP!!!! Keep puttin' this stuff out there - remind people what it use to be like.

  • Back when there were so many dope emcees that one didn't dare claim to "Run" this city or that city. I hate when these young folks run around proclaiming one of these rappers is "on top".

  • Daaayyum, I Thought I Was The Only One Who Remembered This Joint. Another Classic Gem From 1993 That Shows Where Real Hip-Hop Was At One Time. Oh The Memories...:)

  • Great post! Mad Kap was an underrated and extremely talented underground crew. Damn, could you upload their other hit: "Kit and Kaboodle"?

  • I have to listen to this like 3 times before I move to another page

  • great song! i have the album and 12" to this song. i love the horns! thanks for posting this man
