@SadegoGG Well,I'd like to be relieved that human activity won't be causing an eventual climate cascade (nothing else matters as much). But you see, I'm a working meteorologist, and I listen to climatologists, not Gore, a canary, you don't consult with your canary. CO2 increased in ice cores because of ocean release, this is not relevant today, but it was a result of warming. Yes, it will happen again, but who cares at that point, centuries later? Ask someone with training that you trust.

@jerbiebarb If you listen to climatologists then you should be convinced that global warming is real. Were you at the American Meteorological Society Meeting in Atlanta this year (I was)? There was a show of hands in a plenary session with a couple of thousand real meteorologists in the audience for and against that human caused GW was real and needed urgent attention? Not one single hand was raised against it. Not 1. A poll of over 1500 publishing climatologists: 97% said the same thing

@drkstrong What DID they say was going on? Are there new explanations? Anyone can disbelieve or criticize or ignore or downplay AGW, but what is a better theory?

@drkstrong All the alternatives to AGW have huge holes in them so at the moment there is no alternative. The results presented in January seemed pretty conclusive with the final debunking of the ground station issue and result after result supporting AGW. Even some of the old detractors seemed to be back peddling - saying things like there is warming and it is largely human caused but wont be catastrophic (based on what I dont know).
