  • Make sure you get an nvidia card because it has cuda support for faster render times.

  • can anyone say pedaphile... THUMBS UP SO HE CAN SEE!!! haha

  • @TheMrDisser ofc a good gpu makes things easier. but i expierienced a way bigger preformance boost when upgrading my system from amd dual core 4 gig to i7 8gig then from upgrading before from nvidea 8 series to ati 4850 (+ a 10000 rpm system disk). my system is build for editidng purposes, since i make my living off it ;)

on the other hand there are special video editing cards out there, for a several thousand €, but its more the connectors (SDI, hdmi IN) than the gpu power u need for gaming

  • macmacmacmacmacmacmac

  • If you want something and you dont want to go looking for it id go for a macbook pro 15" or a Sony Vaio.

  • i got a pc and a macbook air you should get acer intell core duel proseser windows 7starter i got mine up graded to windows 7 pro but if you got $999 you should buy the first macbook eddiction

  • the problem that i have... is that whenever i render a video in sony vegas it says my laptop doesnt have enough physical memory... it makes me so angry

  • -.ò

    (Subliminal)

  • get a mac its worth it

  • Pentium i5 or i7 3.2GHz , 8GB DDR3 , 500 Mb SATA hard drive , Windows 7 professional 64-bit or premium 64-bit , Nvidia 1 Gig graphics card , dual layer light scribe DVD burner or blue ray burner , HDMI input , firewire , media card reader. Should be able to get something like this for around $800 or less from tigerdirect or newegg.

  • Ok u need a video card an upgrade to vista much more ram forget it u need a new computer

  • @AspireFly

Upgrade? You surely mean a DOWNGRADE to vista, right?

  • have a built already?how much is the budget?

  • What's your budget? Are you wanting to just upgrade what you have or buy new parts to build a system, or just build a whole new system, already built?

  • A week ago I was video editing on a Celeron D 3.06 Ghz, 2 Gigs of RAM, and a Nvidia G100 and it took me to render a 3 hour video in aprox 3 hours and 10 min. Try to look for some Core2Duo CPU's and at least 2 on the RAM. It helps. It helped me to : on my new pc I rendered 3 hours in 15 min ... that's nice

  • lol get the hp vista with windows 7 lol trust me its every thing u need thats wat i have right now

  • Is that waht it's called HP Vista? or Does the computer just have windows vista woth a windows 7 upgrade?

  • i would reccomend at least a core 2 duo with 4gb ram, running 64 bit windows 7.

you also want at least a 512mb graphics card but id reccomend a 1gb as they are very cheap at the moment.

  • I'd say if you really need something good you are gonna need some good cash.

    Recomended specs

Processor - INTEL Core 2 Duo (2.5 Ghz)

    Memory - 4 Gigs

    Hard Drive - 320-500 HDD

Vid Card - Nvidia Geforce 9600 or better

    OS - 64 Bit

(You should wait until computers start coming with Windows 7) Get the premium 64-bit

  • @JorgeHGPR That makes sense. Can you tell me where I could get this for the best price? I would like to buy this week. Thank you

  • @JorgeHGPR Oh, and how much cash are we talking about? (ballpark figure?)

  • If you have the skills to build a pc.. You can make a pc cheap. or I could build one.. the issue with that is.. Shipping.. I have a core 2 duo 2.8ghz system plus it has 64bit vista.. Right now it has 2gb but u can update it to 4gb.. Truely custom pc's are the way to go.. its cheaper and you know what ur gonna get.. PM if you need help building or what not on PC's I'm talking about 470 bucks.. for my current build.. It can game play lots of games well also.. well hope i can help

  • amazing. i've looking for the exact same thing. great vid and question. i'll be looking through your comments to see if i find an answer. the price range is exactly right too except that i will need peripherals too.

  • So ATLEAST the following (but depending on prices in your area, if you can afford more, the better):

    CPU: Core 2 Duo (2GHz)

    Memory: 1GB ddr2

Hardrive: re-use your current one, or get around 320GB (for all the video files).

Graphics card: decent one (512mb) dont need a real good one, because your not using it for 3D games etc.

    GOODLUCK!!

PS: Hey have you tried downloading "mpeg-4 codecs" to take care of your mpeg4 problem? search in google for ffdshow or try free codecs site

  • Hi, i used to do alot of video editing. Was using "Adobe Premiere pro" to edit. There are others like "Sony Vegas" etc.but dont know if you're just using Windows movie maker?

    You will need ATLEAST

2GHz (you can get good deals now on 'core 2 duo' which should be plenty). But im guessing your main problem is caused by your low memory and lack of video card.

You should get atleast 1GB ram memory, else you will have problems rendering(processing the final video).

  • 64 bit processor 2Ghz or higher (At least Dual Core), 4GB of Ram, a really good video card Nvidia best or ATI, and good editing skills.

P.S what happened to your left eye?

  • Editing skills I'm working on that. Thanks for info I just made my first intro .

I have a video on my channel explaining about my right eye it's my right eye not left.

Video title: What's wrong with my right eye.

  • @bluetech7753 oh, try and get a quadcore.

  • @minicoz5 actually the video card doesnt have much to do with the preformance when it comes to videoediting, only when it comes to life gpu effects. videoediting, especially adobe products, needs a fast processor (at the current time the i7 is the weapon of choice for editing) and as much ram as you can handle/afford

  • your processor is horrible and you should have atleast 2gb of ram

  • If possable I would liike a notebook that will let me do some entry level editing at least. yah my proxessor suck balls but that was all I could afford back then. So far everyone is say that i should get a duo core or a quad core processor.

  • yea you wont need a quad core unless you will be doing some hard core editing or a gamer. what is in your price range

  • Right now I would need something no more then one grand. $1,000.00 or less and I know that the low $ 300.00 -$ 400.00 laptops or desktops will not meet my needs.

  • Hey dude what the hell is your problem?

Fucking watch and pay attention. BTW learn to spell. The word "what" is spelled wrong.

  • maybe you should search around on his channel and stop being a dumbass?

  • Who are you talking to?

  • cshcrazy

sorry for the late reply havent been on youtube

  • get a macbook thats what I would do

  • just build your own system. it is cheaper and can perform better than stock factory spec. just wanna tell you that you gonna need. three main component. an intel quad core, 2gb or more of ram, graphic card, better get the powerful one cause you gonna need it to handle HD video and maybe burning blu-ray dvd. and you can enjoy yourself with a cool video game.

  • I recommend get something with a dual core processor, if not a quad core.

At lest 2 gigs of Ram, and buy a video card with 256MB of video ram that is capable of 1080p resolution.

  • for HD video editing such as AVCHD you would need to have a quad core processor and about 2 or 3 GB of ram. I'm getting one with an AMD 2.20 GHz Pheneom quad core with 8GB of ram and a XFX nForce 750a motherboard. And a 600w power supply.

  • definetly build a system if you can. It's cheaper then buying a stock system and you can get better specs for the money. depends on the budget as well. Newegg is a good parts manafacturer.

  • I just bought a Compaq CQ60-215DX widescreen laptop with an AMD turion x64 2.00 dual core processor, 2 gigs of ram, and a nvidia graphics. It plays all games great as well as my video editing. If your in the market for a desktop though, i think you should build one. Single core is bad for video editing.

  • Yah I am going to be staying away from single core and shared video. I will be looking for a deticated video graphics card and a duo core or quad core processor on my next system.

  • i just got a hp DV5 laptop and it works amazing... i bought it from staples... it has a 250gb hard drive... 512mb video card... lightscribe burner... 4gn ram.... 15.7inch wide screen... very nice for the money... paid around 1200 for it

  • alien ware

  • AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+2.21 GHz 2.00 GB of ram 512MB Graphic Card

  • did u get skinnier nice man

  • I have lost some weight but I think this new camera makes me look a litle skinnier and it gaive s me sort of an egghead look si I changed some setings. However I am trying to lose more weight thanks.

  • one more thing i for gat to say is if you get HP with Vista Ultimate you would want to get add least 3MB of memmory thats how much i have all so remember if you get a laptop you have to get a big one like a 20ince because the smaller the laptop the less porformance you will get the bigger the laptop you get more porformance

  • HP Laptop with Vista Ultimate this computer is good for that and gameing Vista Ultimate works with all games and is a new softwere releast on Marrch 2008 also Vista Ultimate comes with DirectX 10 witch sould make gameing bettar and it do's because i play all kinds of games from XP to vista games once again HP with Vita Ultimate is a great vidoe additing computer Vista Ultimate adds more features and its great for gameing

i have a HP Dragon Laptop 20ince with Vista Ultimate

  • you could mabey get a new mac mini if they are released at macworld they are ment too be getting nvidias 9400m graphics chip at are currently in the new unibody macbook

  • Celeron? Eww ditch that Celery stick ASAP! Get a Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad. The Q6600 is the most common and affordable quad. Most video related tasks can tax a quad core and this is where they shine. Will all 4 cores chuggin away on your video it will fly! Video playback of certain formats is somewhat tied to the video card as all modern video cards have internal HD video decoding witch offloads work from the CPU.

  • Celeron Dual Cores and Pentuim Dual Cores are based off the Core 2 Duo but have some of the cache taken out of them and also run on a slower front side bus. Like your older single core Celeron witch was based off a P4 with more Cache taken off once again. Stripping these processors of cache will cause them to run much slower at many CPU intensive tasks. Stay away from a stripped down CPU next time. They are cheap but not meant for heavy work.

  • Would you say with about $800.00 to $1,500 us dollare would get me a sutible system for video editing ?

  • Honestly for just the tower (assuming you already have the monitor) I would say $1000 could build you a core2 quad with a nice mid ranged video card (don't need a high end gaming card) 4GB of RAM and a fat Hard drive or two. Look for an Intel "P45" based motherboard, biggest quad you can afford and go from there. I wouldn't spend more than $150 on the video card. Get as much RAM as you can but remember 32-bit OS is capped at about 3-3.5GB but if you get a 64-bit OS like Vista 64 can go more.

  • Put your money in the CPU and reliability factors. Remember don't skimp out on the Power Supply as its one of the most important part and a cheap PSU is over-rated and wont have as clean regulation. Put your money into a decent case, PSU and motherboard, the biggest quad you can afford and the most HD space. Like I said you can skimp out on the video card and sound card since your not gaming. Onboard sound should be good enough unless you REALLY like your music and have really good speakers.

  • I use a mac w/ a small graphics card and it runs Final Cut Pro flawlessly. On the PC side IDK

  • a mac

  • You want the fastest Core 2 Duo (or even quad) you can afford, and at least 2 gigs of RAM. For video editing you also want the largest hard drive you can afford because raw video from the camera takes up a lot of space. Contrary to popular belief the graphics card is (most of the time) irrelevant to video rendering so you'll be fine with any onboard video card unless you plan on doing gaming in your spare time or GPU effects with the videos. Let me know if you have any questions.

    -Adam

  • Modern GPU's and modern encoders can actually use the video card to help the CPU render video. This can cut your time dramatically VS the CPU doing all the work and the GPU doing nothing as in the past.

  • Otherwise I agree get a Core 2 Quad with at least 2 GB of RAM (3 for Vista) and a big ass hard drive. RAM and Hard Drives are really cheap these days so go nuts. Like SpotlightSound said raw uncompressed video will eat up the storage space!

  • You are right...I didn't think encoders most people were using (ie Movie Maker) supported GPU rendering, but according to Microsoft they do take advantage of the GPU...atleast in the Vista version.

    -Adam

  • Newegg has allot of custom built pc's that are from $400-$1200 that have really nice specs!

  • Although I don't know too much about the actual hardware, I'm sure others can help you out with that, I definatly have to reccomend you buy all your parts and either put it together yourself. Its actually not that hard with the help of the internet, thouh I guess thats easy for me to say because I had my cousin do it for me lol.

  • How much are you willing to spend? I know you said the Mac is too pricey but did you also consider the Mac Mini? I'm assuming you probably did, but if not, I wanted to point out that you can KEEP all your PC peripherals and pick up the Mac Mini for $799. Just a thought. I think the MX20 will work with the Mac, but you may want to check at the Apple store first. Again, just a suggestion, not trying to force Apple down your throat or anything. Take care. :)

  • 2.0Ghz intel C2D

    2 gigs of ram

    120gb HD @7200 rpm

nvidia 8800 gt w/256 mb of vram

this should run pretty good editing

  • Upgrade the processor to a Quad Q6600 Kentsfield, RAM to 4 GB (especially if you plan on using Vista) and maybe a better video card and It's fine. If you're building it (Which I recommend - not hard at all) get a Gigabyte DS3L motherboard. Use Newegg, price should total no more than $1,000 w/ everything including case.
