  • I absoloutly love this video, i've just started reading the Sharpe books (now on Sharpe's Triumph) and plan to get the re-mastered collection for my birthday.

This video suits Hakeswill to the ground, The choice of song and editing mesh so well together.

    Great stuff :D

  • I'm still stunned and devastated about Pete's death. Yesterday, all I could hear in my mind was Obadiah saying, "You can't kill me".

And as long as we keep watching the TV and movies he's been in and remember him with love, he will live on.

    RIP Pete

  • ...too heartbreaking for words T_T

True, you can't kill Pete!!! >:)

  • The first time I saw Pete Postlethwaite act was when he played Obadiah Hakeswill in the TV series Sharpe. His performance was inspirational. This video rocks and is a fitting tribute to a colossal actor. R.I.P. Pete. You are a legend and will be greatly missed. x

  • The ending is all the more poignant today. RIP Pete, a true acting great

  • One of the most memorable villains of all time! RIP Pete, loved the Obadiah character.

  • @Steshette the sharpe boxset is available through play.com

  • R.I.P. Obadiah

  • Pete at his most awesome best, RIP :(

  • RIP Peter.

  • I thought I was the only one with strange taste in men. I started watching the Sharpe DVDs to see the gorgeous Sean Bean, but who ends up in my naughty dreams? Yep, you guessed it, ol' Obadiah. But I've always had a thing for bad boys, anyway.

Very well made video, with a highly appropriate song that shows the sadness of Obadiah's life. It actually made me cry.

    Thanks for making it.

  • Well made, interesting video...I haven't seen that movie...the song is cool too

  • Obadiah they should never have killed you off!!! A thieving mad twitching nutcase, talking to his old mum's picture in his hat. Priceless!

  • One of Postlethwaite's best performances, what a character. He was completely bonkers with his nervous twitch and talking to his mum in his hat (who was the stolen portrait of the generals wife).

Shame you dont see that much of Liz Hurley when she is ordered to strip but hey :-)

  • And thought I was the only one with such a taste and was even kind of proud of it... Well, I'll check it out anyway, thanks for the tip. ;)

  • Interesting... I will watch this movie when the DVD comes out here.

  • All the sharpe series is available onDVD as far as I know, you might have to go via Amazon or some such though though.
