To say that Den Defence is so much like Orcs Must Die (or any other tower defense game) isn't very valid, considering that OMD has used the tower defense element that's used in too many other games to count. Just let it be people, and enjoy the game.

Because Arrow storm killing everybody is because the animus can cheat on things like that. It can't cheat on Ezio actually remembering that in his life he had to command troops, but it can make it easier for Desmond to control than it would have been for Ezio.
