for diagonals I usually turn the cube so that the (in the picture) bottom-left is sideways and the top-right is forward. basically, diagonals, but the opposite of the picture. And then from there you can do a triple sune real fast. works great for me. thanks for the vid.

you can use FRU Ri Ui Fi

if you have a line on the up layer have it horizontal when you do the alg, if you have only an "L" where two side pieces are also on the up layer hold them in the up left corner when you do the alg. You will then have the line which with one more time doing this alg will give you a cross

OLL is pointless if you have to just end up switching corners after you solve the top layer then do the same algorithms over and over again...

Switching corners as soon as you get the cross then doing OLL is much better.

Also, the video linked as being "a better explanation" has U2' explained in the description and in the comments section at least 5 times. U2' is not the same as U2. It brings you to the same place... but so does walking and riding your bike.

The point of the OLL is to Orient the Last Layer. You don't solve the center pieces. Center pieces are always in their solved spots.

I just realized, yours is the exact reverse of mine. Just try it my way.... you'll see what I mean. It's one quick flow. No regrips at all.

I tried it, but I think mine is easier to perform. In yours, you have to do R U R' U which means regrip. Mine has all alternating hands. It's because of the RU and then R' U. If it was R' U' then you wouldn't have to regrip, which is what mine achieves.

these cases require that you have already performed an extra algorithm to get at least the cross, this is why it's called the 2 Look, it's slower because you need that extra algorithm and therefore more moves

It encourages you to do it with your left hand. This leads into the next move better.

It doesn't make much of a difference, but if you ever see U2' or R2', you should practice doing the turn counterclockwise.

A few hours if you work on it. It's better not to memorize all of them at once though. First, just work on recognizing the shapes.. maybe for the next week or so just try and call out the names of the corner cases when you see them, and solve them normally...

...then learn the cases slowly, maybe 2 at a time over the course of another week or two.
