This show also misrated the Fletcher Class' service length. The destroyers served in the US Navy into the 70's and many served in other national navies well past that so it was an incredibly well designed ship that even outlived the battlecruisers and carriers they were designed to protect.

@Taospark The Fletchers served in foreign navies even longer. One of our Fletchers was in the Mexican Navy into the 21st Century.

Your kidding me? Fletchers did a lot more than that! My Dad served on the USS Foote from day one till the day of her decommission.
