  • Both have their upsides and drawbacks. The zi8 is what we're using for our main audio since it has an external mic input. The macro feature on the zi8 is simply stunning. The opening shots of us pouring the vegetable oil in the gas tank is shot with the macro. At times though, the Flip handles motion better and compensates for low light. Both companies continue to push updates. It's our hope that Kodak fixes the focus issue soon. But for the price they can't be beat. Thanks for the question.
