  • nice

  • Did you record this with a aluminum foil, covered paper plate?.... Shouldda used a potato.

  • And when something is madewith the cassette and tape recorder.

  • What is the yellow thing in the diagram of the speaker between the coil and the plate?

  • @zpielmitmir where the wrapped coil goes

  • @Zenodilodon thank you! =D

  • i love mangoo

  • speak up

  • how much coiling should be done and how much ohm should it have

  • i really hate it when top comments are replys...

  • If u have those 2 wires hanging off, how do you hook it up to something?

  • easy? i tried it and it "sorta" worked. i got all the materials and put it to gether. it took me about 2 days to make a good one.

  • Did you record this with a home made camera :D JK

  • video quality is not good

  • can you make a new vid of this in bette quality Please

    Props 4 the idea

  • Dude, this is one of the best things ive seen on youtube.

  • Great vid but instructions were not clear!

  • How many times did you wrap it around the button?

  • hey i put one togher and it didnt work any ideas on what i did wrong

  • @BiloxiFighting There is alot of previously answered questions, check older responses if you still have issues let me know.

  • @BiloxiFighting Did you burn of the insulation on only the ENDS, where the positive and negative terminals are???

  • I made a speaker to check it out 24 inch sobwoofer.hehehe.you are one of the people that got me in to this plz re:

  • hi, could u pls subscribe on the blueprint at the end, which areas are glued and which not? my english isnt good enough to understand the whole vid, sorry :/

  • @xardronn glue between, first cd and button, between button and retaining plastic,, and where you glue the first cd to the spacer and second speaker.

  • @Zenodilodon thx a lot =)

  • what´s that on your index finger?

  • @BowDownToShingo haha it's a boog! lol

  • where did you get that stone of ima?

  • where did you get this ima?

  • i have millions of those motors ....

say. if you get out all the copper wire and then tie em up will it work as a voice coil or does it have to be one unbroken wire?

  • @hothedGam3rz you can solder the wires together, it does need to be a higher quality bond metal on metal contact because of vibration.

  • Euro Dancer!!!! Love mangoo

  • mine work but it very very quiet D= can someone help me? =(

  • man tht speaker sux dick

  • @TheChrisey Nice to see you have something in common then.

  • @Zenodilodon chrisey how does it sux it sounds pretty good to me

  • @Zenodilodon

    OLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL OWNED!

  • I did something like this... @Halaryoos I used 1 cd, about 2-3m of cables, a magnet and a 40W x 4 OP stereo.

  • Can you message me a list of items used? I can't make out what your are saying half the time.

  • I did this and failed EPICLY.. T.T

  • I dont have half the wierd little objects you have in your house. Its too sofisticated for a tutorial.

  • umm yea cheap this crap dont work

  • @matthawes1 Then you know shit about physics and you can't put anything together correctly. Look at the video responses and learn something.

  • @matthawes1 yea man I forgot to mention it doesnt work for retards...

  • Umm...I have used this project for my physics class (there isn't science class in Serbia...only physics)... And my teacher was sooooooooooooooooo overwhelmed with my presentation of the speaker...that I can not describe... :D ...I've made a video, and posted a video response named Zvucnik (speaker in Serbian)...and now it's clear to me how a speaker works...and a motor...and all sorts of electromagnetic...stuff...I had some knowledge of that earlier, but this cleared some thinks up.. :D ..thanks..

  • can you use copper wire anyone?

  • @starmanbarber12345 I wish i read this before your message, it is special copper wire for electromagnets, you cannot use uncoated copper wire.

  • @starmanbarber12345 Solid core copper wire with thin enamel (coating) :)

  • how much wire did you use for the coil

  • lucky you did not muck up your computer or computer with that magnet you were moving around

  • Sounds like it actually has really good frequency response! I wonder if you connected it to a subwoofer amp.

  • gr8 job dude

i loved the video even it was in low def.... i think this is the 1ly workin homemade speakers in all youtube

make a better vid nxt time

    XD

  • "from a cd player that I took apart" looks broken apart to me :P

  • sorry for asking is that if it is connected to an amplifier 2W effects appeared?

  • Hey, that's pretty cool. I have a question though, does it have to be airtight between the two CD's? Also in the diagram at the end of the video, what is that small gray thing below the coils of wire?

  • @KhMErTRiAd It does nto have to be airtight at all no, There small thing is a thin retaining barrier so the wire you wrap on does not fall off or become unspooled.

  • You destroyed hundred of dollars in equipment to get cooper wire? better buy a new speaker in radioshack MTF!. o.O

  • @xtasytube No, I am both a repairmen and a home hobbyist with electrical components, These things are from equipment that is either not worth servicing, unserviceable, or bought very cheaply from second hand/thrift stores. If you ever walked into a repair shop for electronics you would see how easy it is to accumulate parts. This is also an instructional project, and where as buying a speaker is better if you need one, buying one also teaches you nothing about a speaker. Way to be enlightened.

  • @Zenodilodon no offense but... walked into a repair shop to "accumulate parts". so... you don't buy parts... you stole the crap? o.O

    Cool mad science pal! :)

  • @xtasytube As much as I can admit I used to have quick fingers right now it's just bad parts from things brought in and I had to order up new/replacement parts. I also buy parts themselves, there are many hobby websites offering things like motors and transformers, Either way no matter how I got everything I misuse it until it does something cool, at least something cool before it starts to smoke... all in the name of science.

  • @Zenodilodon Same here! =D

  • @SuperJow10 I do not understand, sorry?

  • Comment removed

  • I tryed it but cant get mine to work. On the headphones there is a red and black wire on one side and a copper and green wire on the other side. How do i connect those wires to the magnetic wire?

  • @centorbi07 you need to strip the magnetic wire and then attach it, also if your trying to use headphones don't there is NOT enough power form them for this project

  • @Zenodilodon what can i use other than headphones for this then. And is 60 coils enough for this?

  • @centorbi07 the more coils the batter, the problem with headphones is that they are extremely small and build for use with lower power output. most home made projects will not run or be extremely quiet with just headphones. use any home theater/boom box with audio out, Also the more coils you have the less risk of damage to your amp.

  • @Zenodilodon So can i use the headphone jack that came with my headphones and connect a couple 20 gauge wires to them and magnet wire? Sorry for all the questions i dont know much about these.

  • @centorbi07 no, forget the head phones altogether. use regular wire to run the 2 connections from the coil to the amplifier.

  • im gonna feel like an idiot asking this but where can i find instructions on how to make these?? or could someone make me some and ill buy them??

  • @googlyboom There are no instructions, This is an original DIY, you can check the video response titled " 3 hour cd project " if you still do get it working I can write you up some instructions

  • @Zenodilodon ok thanks heaps mate, i made a mobile thing above my bed out of them :D its so gooooooooood

  • @googlyboom You got the speakers to work?

  • how did you hook up your speaker to your whatever you hooked it up to ?

  • @blindassassin111 I ran wire from the voice coil to the 40 watt amplifier I was using for this.

  • @Suhailr909 glad to hear it, if you need any help let me know and I will try my best to help out.

  • @Suhailr909 There can be if you want but airtight is not needed.

  • fake

  • @Sonicku When you call something that is "fake" your proving that your just an owner of one " Hi, I'm Stupid " name tag. Now here is the deal, I won't tell anyone that your an idiot if you get off your lazy ass and try something instead of posting up one word responses just because you can't quite seem to grasp a concept, learning is a good thing.

  • @Sonicku F**** You its not fake Why do you have to be such an ass and post that??? what you got problems in your life dude or what? GET OFF YOUR ASS AND SEE THE WORLD FOR ONCE.

  • @Falcon500ful I saw this and thought, Oh shit someone just used Falcon punch lol

  • lol is your microphone homemade too?

  • @aqwiz nope, this was just recorded through really bad laptop mics

  • free energy

  • @mastergsan Only while the parents are paying lol

  • @Zenodilodon

lol, i meant to type that in the search bar but the dum layout is confusing sometimes and i ended up posting it.

  • This layout sucks major ass, its like Macintosh took a crap all over Youtube.

  • @mastergsan you shouldn't search for free energy, unless you know a whole lot about physics, and are just looking for a good laugh. there is plenty of free energy, it's called solar, wind, geothermal, etc. if you are looking for a perpetual motion machine you aren't going to find one, and here's why: try pushing an object, and then getting that object to push another object of equal mass with more force than you pushed the first. It will never happen, energy is just the "push"

  • Nice Man, Am Gonna Try This [Thumbs Up!!!]

But Yu Should 've Recorded In A Good Quality,

    ThankzZ Anywayz [10 Stars :P]

  • zomg i love that song!!!

  • was the wire you used jacketed/insulated or just plain copper wire with no jacket?

  • The wire I used for the core is insulated with a special varnish, you need to get special electromagnetic winding wire.

  • a way easier was to make a speaker is just take an RC motor and connect the jacks to it.

the motor has a magnet and coils in it already

  • Using an RC motor on an amplifier can cause a high voltage loop back to the amp.

  • Is it really absolutely necessary to solder the wires if the tools aren't around?

Can't i just wrap them together real tight?

  • Do you have to solder them, no. However you do need to strip the coating off the EM wire you can use a lighter, sandpaper, or a small blade.

  • Yeah i got that part with the coating, thanks!

By the way, i heard/read somewhere, that the more loops in the coil, and the stronger the magnet/s (to a certain extent), the less juice they require and are more likely to be powered by an iPod or mp3 player as such?

Do you know if that is true?

    Thanks

  • The more coils the stronger yes, though it required more power to run. Your going to want to use very thin coil for an ipod type device and a very strong magnet, this is probably a little to much for any MP3 player to run.

  • Oh alright, thanks!

    1 more thing.

If i was to construct a speaker, are there any possibilities that it might damage the player/output source?

  • only if the coils resistance is under 4 ohms.

  • LOL A LIGHTSABER

  • Great concept...i'm making it wright now...but I have a question...why did the magnet attract to coaxial cable (6:15) when it's made of copper...?...it doesn't really have nothing to do with anything, but it just got me thinking...and thinking...it rimes...lol...

  • The magnet is a 16 pound pull and it attracted the steal IR barrier outer braded wire. The core wire is copper yes.

  • @Zenodilodon ManI'm testing it right now....it's loud...i used a magnet from hard drive...and 3 coils...I made just upper part.and glued it to the table with some sponge in the middle...the magnet is under the speaker...I'm still experimenting on how to make it louder...I've glued a small cone on the CD,and you can hear the higher voices clearer...:D...man it's great...:D

  • what is the yellow? I can't see it well because of low def :D. Could you plz explain it to me?

  • The yellow is a cross section of the coil you wrap around the center post. "a non magnetic item "

  • thank :D, It's sound interesting 'cuz i'm attending to made an amplifier and speaker. Thank a lot :D

  • Do you supposed that you can make a decent speaker out of a cool whip tub and the lid? Just use the lid like you did the CD's, make everything the same way, then cut a hole in the bottom of the tub, run the cable through it, and snap the lid back on. The lid might be flexible enough to give the 'speaker' good movement and sound. Also you might be able to glue a styrofoam cup inside the bowl to hold the magnet. away from the speaker, give it more room to move.

  • That sounds like a good idea actually, I would say try it for sure.

  • Hehehe, yay! Thank you! Now to get some parts..

  • nic szczególnego

  • it does work, i've done this on a larger scale. 1/10 mm wire over a 3 cds. put holes thru the discs on the rear and it made it twice the side diameter, its powers up put the 3rd disc as a holder. 100w speaker for 3 bucks. and the enclosure makes alot of bass...

  • man this is sooo awesome!

im going to try this, but im not exactly a techy with these things... so you mind helpin me out? hahaha

  • It's not to hard to make if you take your time, also many questions have been answered already in the comments. at well as the video responses, the one created by stop4stuff is also a great help.

  • Interesting i have never seen this b4

  • wow thats unbelievable.i gotta try this

  • Dude... Cut your nails!

  • Omg xD go cut 'em xD

  • yeah. wow those are long.

    boy or girl?

  • Do you want a real answer or an adult sarcastic one?

  • sarcastic ofcourse

  • Firstly, yes I am a guy... but here is what you wanted lol

When I fight it is with girls of gay guys, I liek havign an advantage.

I keep long nails for carving demonic message in picnic tables for little kids to read in public play grounds.

I like having feminine hands when I touch my masculine parts, it ads to the illusion.

With nails that long I have to scratch my ass once in the morning and I am itch free for the entire day.

  • I hate poking my eyes out with straws so I do lines right out of my nails instead.

i am growing them out so i can donate them to cancer patients who no longer have nails from chemotherapy

I love leaving a good impression on a hot girl... usually on her back.

They increase my booger picking ability 3 fold

As long as my nails are long Chuck Norris is fearful I will flick his forehead.

Because the government won't let me bring knives on airplanes anymore.

    I hope you enjoyed

  • @Zenodilodon nice lol the funniest answer is the feminine hands response

  • awsome

  • Could I use an old-style record and a bit more coil to make a woofer-type speaker?

  • dude... you so could lol that's a brilliant idea !!!

  • and use those mini-cds as tweeters...

make a surround sound system out of old CDs, wire, and hard drive magnets!

  • nice one!

    great inspiration :)

  • Fix your levels, and get a tripod.

  • lol, this was like my first video ever it's bound to suck.

  • Shit doesn't work cause your one of those people with little knowledge on how to manufacture basic devices and needs to be spoon fed every step of the way.

  • Maybe you should look at the "THIS IS A VIDEO RESPONSE TO:" link..

    Moron.

  • hey this actually works and pretty well the onlyproblem is that its kinda quiet but the quality is very good

  • Hey can I talk to you on vent?

Also, would it be possible to take the coil and put it around your finger?

  • Whats vent?, and no, you have to pretty much wrap it around your bade not finger because it needs to be tightly fit.

  • Ventrilo, like where we can talk to each other on microphone

  • I have both aim and MSN, both mic and cam ready.

  • can you go to

    op2rules

    .

    net

webirc? (link at top right) it's ma website :)

  • Whats on your finger

  • lol, i think it's a little piece of fuzz , it looks ridiculous though lol

  • Nice project!

And you will never make a "HD" speaker.. HD is high definition --> for an image, high fidelity (hifi) is for sound.

  • but i thought that the rare earth magnet was like alot of money. is it the same size magnet or what?

  • Neodymium magnets have come down in price quite a bit, look around there are some good deals easily.

  • how much is the magnet

  • On ebay you can buy a comparable magnet for around $5-$7.

  • wow this is one of the best clip i seen all day. unlike those fake clips on how to make a hd speaker for only $1.

i'm kind of curious what kind of magnet is that? is it a super magnet?

  • That is a rare earth magnet with a 13 pound pull, and thank you for the comment it's much appreciated.

  • plss sen me picks or another video where you show how to place everything the wires and all that

  • please read below, you left chain crap on videos, well on 3 of them. and you want help? take the chain junk off and i will be more then happy to help ya. ^_^

  • I am really trying to get another full video up, I am having troubles finding 2 clear CD disks v.v it's coming up though.

  • what song

  • Dj Mangoo Eurodancer

  • I know others have already found out about it but. Yeah it works. I took me almost a day to find a transformer I wasn't using anymore but yeah. It's cool.

  • The truth about this is that some one puts pen ink on your mouse while your holding your breath,

    SPOOKY...

and what idiot made it 1-2-3-4-3?

  • It looks cool . but please explain clearly how did you make the coil with number of turns. Or you could you please show us some clear pictures of that coil . thanks> nice job

  • I have been marking comments like that as spam for ages now. Tooo many fags out their that cant get laid.

P.S. Great video. Very educational. Keep up the good work! =)

  • Another Patrick I see, Awesome I have yet to meet a stupid person named that it's a good name lol. Thanks for the comment!

If you like this video there are more like it on my channel and more will be coming up in the days to come Subscribe!

  • Thanks! Sweet I look foward to seeing them! =)

  • im not quit sure if it works like this, but would it help if you cvould trap the air around and between the magnet when it vibrates to give it more bass like a subwoofer... and would a less or more powerful magnet change the sound of the speaker, cz i just happen o have a magnet that can hold up to 50 pounds and about that size.

  • Yeah, this is awesome. Great video, really really great. And its true about the mini-Jack. The best is if you hook it up to a normal jack music station. iPods or mp3 players dont deliver enough power to make such a big home made speak bounce. :P
