I would suggest magnet mounting the signals. If somebody knocks into the bridge, its going to break. BLMA already overcharges for those signals, breaking it would not be good.
WOW. I have a layout but making it longer from 4x8 to 4x16. is there a book on how and where to run your lights. I have many turnout and want to run lights for it and more lights as signal as well can you help me. Rodney_Martin65@yahoo.com I can send you more on my easy layout but Atlas. layout HO-25 Great Eastern Trunk.
I would go to your local train hobby shop and take a look at thier how to book section. Last time I went in I saw a book on lighting for layouts, if I happen to go back in there I will get you the name of the book!
the lights are switch automaticly they go through a computer that runs jmri with special logic customly written in to tell where a train is, what the switches are set for and is there a train in front of it. The lights will switch accordingly to the conditions. I will do a quick video demostrating this
Liked the video very much, would love to see more movements passed them signals, maybe some diverging moves and such to see all of the aspects you would get, keep up the good work.
@CMRSclub Nice, I too have been installing my own signal system, check it out on my channel if you get a chance, look forward to more videos of your progress!!
i model english 00 gauge and i cant find signals to the same quality as these american ones :( i dont want plastic ones or if the ones in the video are plastic the quality is amaizing thx
Very Nice Signaling system. The BLMA Cantilever Signal Bridge is neat as I have one and was wondering which wires are you putting together cause thats what I cannot figure out but I would like to hook mine up through the Atlas Control with the On & Off Switches. Any Help would sure be Appreicated.
Thanks we are going to be putting in a combination of NJ International Signal heads and the BLMA signal heads, we are in love with both, and will be working to put in signals of the next big crossover!!
I will explain it in another video I will have right after the club update, its will start to get confusing on how it works if i explained out out right, pictures and video will be a better solution!
Thanks we thought so too! this is basicly the first light anything on the layout other than the lights above the layout. They look neat at night or in the day time. and we cannot wait till there are more signals!
We are using standard cut block detection, as where there inicators wired to the track which is sectioned off(becoming a block) and then we have each of the blocks programed in sync with the computer which runs JMRI. the computer does the deciding if there is a train in that block or not or if a switch is set against it and what not and it will display the appropriate light on the signal. hmm maybe next time I am at the club i will do a demonstration on how it all works!
Its still paper city somewhat, as we have been deciding what all do we want in the moutains before we start building, you will find out about this and more in my next update that should be done by the end of the day today!

How in the world do I control signals with JMRI?
I have a nce powercab.
I need to know the whole thing!
Like block detection and all of that!
I DONT WANT TO BE STUCK WITH ATLAS SIGNALS!!!!!

so what signal system are you using? how do you get it to work with NCE DCC, or is it independent?
drewzdrew27 1 year ago
@drewzdrew27
It's JMRI's signal logic system I think I will do a video on it to help everyone understand how it works!

Wait so how and when do the lights change? Do you have some sensors on the tracks or do you control them by the NCE throttle? Thanks, love your vids,
