The reason why they don't just break open the window and swim out is because the Rahi might attack them when they try to escape, they might not be able to fit through the window, they can't breathe underwater, because the mask that allows underwater breathing only works for Gali's type of mask and only Turaga and Toa can use the mask powers.

I got into Bionicle back in 2001 (My first Bionicle was Lewa, and he's still my favorite character to this day), and I never even new about this game until around 2008 =/

I played and I loved it SO MUCH and I was really disappointed when they took it down...

However recently I downloaded it from some website, and playing it again has been a big blast-from-the-past =)

I remember playing this game. Mata nui had so many mysteries, so many stuff hidden, so much potential... I always thought once a mystery was solved there was always a billion more. Now they're all solved. I replayed and beat this game and I seriously almost cried... no more secrets.

Well, I'm not sure about the Lightstone, but it might of had to do with a bug fix. The cutscene can no longer be seen in game because it can only be seen when the path to Ta-Koro is blocked, but all paths are open to start with in this version.

Hmm. that's funny, you should have known that matoran can't use their masks, second it wouldn't be enough room to smash into and break that window, finally i am actually capable of finding that missing gear without using the lightstone, but still you are doing well

I do know that matoran cannot use their masks, but having been exposed over the years to different media where creatures that lived that close to water were able to breathe it, I forgot that they couldn't.

I've seen someone break a window at point blank using only their fist (which I don't recommend doing), though I now know that breaking glass that is submerged underwater is difficult due to pressure.

I can also find the gear without the light, but I was playing the game the way it was meant.

Yes, I agree. It seems after (I think) the end of the Metru Nui timeline it went down. For a while even though I lost interest in the toys I still followed the plot.
