  • For things that won't blend!

  • So what of it? Chuck Norris does this every morning for breakfast.

  • yes, can it shred justin bieber?

  • what can shred this machine!?!?

  • It's so hypnotizing to watch!

  • Will it blend? That is the question...the answer is "yes".

  • This would be perfect set to that brave little toaster song.

  • What if this was a transformer?

  • How can we work this in to an episode of CSI?

  • Chuck Norris uses those to shave.

  • Chuck Norris would break it.

  • I guess one day humans will shred millions of unwanted robots using machines like these...probably whist still active.

  • If you close your eyes, it sounds like bowling

  • With the HAMMEL chipper/shreader, you, too can mulch the manly way!

  • So that's where Aperture science gets it's robot shredders.

  • @HaoWenXiang Nah, Apertures are definitely made by SSI Shredding.

  • i say we throw our worst criminals and terrorists in there instead of the electric chair

  • @DarkNemesis25 Nah, think of the mess... ;)

  • They need names and faces painted onto them :)

  • While that thing is a beast... those are aluminium blocks.

  • @justus1199 yeah, my thought exactly, wonder if it can do the same with a cast iron Volvo B18 for instance... Don't think so.

  • ok im scared.

  • that is an insane amount of power. A 50. cal bullet can barley get through an engine block and this thing breaks them like glass.

  • If those were American engine blocks, that shredder would overheat and die. Those engine blocks are OBVIOUSLY import ;D

  • BEAST

  • awesomely terrifying

  • O_O

  • That's some hot metal on metal action right there!

  • it crushes it like it was very old plastic ..

  • I would like to see this machine try to shred cast iron blocks.

  • were those all aluminum blocks?

  • @bullmoosecalhoun i'm pretty sure, cause it's Germany

It won't be that easy to shred a cast iron one!

  • 2:43

    has anybody see my car?

    in red color?

  • My mate's got one of these. We sometimes fire it up and take it in turns to run on top of the turning blades cartoon style. Pretty good fun to do, but a bit slow, wouldn't mind something a bit faster tbh as it's a bit too easy.

Play safe and always wear a helmet.

  • @LittleMikeUE i thought Chuck Norris didn't comment on Youtube. xD

  • Comment removed

  • It looks like a regular paper shredder...it can't shred more than one piece at a time without backing up

  • So sad, but so epic. I'm in a glass case of emotion.

  • I wouldn't want to get stuck in that...

  • Wait... I thought I dropped my block off at the machine shop. Oh crap!

  • Seen it before but it is still awesome

  • I WANT ONE!

  • This was awesome! The sound was horrific and terrifying! I loved it!

  • @hectiky YESSSSS!

  • Keeps stalling = needs a larger drive engine, and with a large mass flywheel.

  • @OPOCHKA yeah, that or it's crushing engine blocks.

  • 1:07 The "stuff" tries to take over the world and then... The RED GIANT COMES TO SAVE US ALL!!!!

  • @schpex

    no... no u wouldn't....

  • needs moar horse powurs

  • I wanna play with that thing so bad

  • Something for the maffia to purchase

  • Dear Santa......

  • I've finally found the perfect machine for my homeworks...

  • It seems that they are very hard and brittle becouse they crack instantly they barely bend, is it hard steel to withstand high engine temperatures or what?

  • omg it rotates so slow but it still manages to shred a block of iron. thats so scary that I want to cry.

  • @bloodaid I would say the opposite, that it goes to fast. If it goes slower then they could get more power into it, that's why most big vehicles usually are pretty slow.

  • @madichelp0 yeah they could get more power into it but still, its not often you see a monster machine like that. if it was made for paper then allright, or maybe even wood, but blocks of fucking iron is just too much for me to handle. scary scary

  • But can it shred an iPhone?

  • chuck norris must have een turning the crank

  • hehe Chevy Big Block 634 :D

  • All I see are straight-6's and 4-bangers. Can't handle a V, eh?

    Weak.

  • Who knew engine blocks were so brittle o.o

  • OMNOMNOMNOMNOM

  • I see a straight six!!! Nooooooo!!!!

  • @driftsilvia16 there is a LOT of straight 6s in there

  • Got Torque?

  • Great way to get rid of a body.

  • Aluminum, great........ now lets see it do the same thing to cast iron blocks.

  • those were bmw blocks that didn't meet the production quality control

  • DAMN!!! That thing has some POWER and torque!!!

  • Its aluminium ?? or iron??

  • WOW.

  • There is nothing more satisfying than this.

  • I think that might take your hand off if you got it in there.

  • @clewi1091 i think it would do more than just take your hand off!!

  • Damn, I cant imagine the racket this thing must make. Pretty awesome though!

  • I want a miniature version for processing yard waste!

    I'm sold!

  • omg it crushes them like dry leaves.

  • What a machine!

  • What are the engine specs for this unit, and isn't standing nearby dangerous as hell!?

  • probably titanium teeth

  • hi can this work for the engine blocks with iron attachments inside the block. also can u let us know the manufacturer details. We will be interested in it. This one is really splendid which could bring down many problems to nil

  • As the saying goes, you have to fight fire with fire. Items shredders do not like are railroad steel, structural steel I beams, and propane tanks. A operator was killed when he accidently shredded an acetylene tank. The entire hammer mill blew up and melted.

  • @oipbhakeld Huh. I thought the Engine block was because the snow plow mythbusters sharpened easily cleaved it's way through the parts you mentioned, but couldn't do any major damage to the block. Maybe it has to do with shape?

  • @shashoni109 from a shredding and overall compostion of material, torsion bars, springs, and axles are all hardened steel. and engine block is usually cast iron or aluminum making them very brittle.

  • @oipbhakeld Oh. Then how was their snow plow able to tear right through them?

  • @shashoni109 i saw that episode, but i dont remember the close up of the car in the aftermath, but my guess is, it probably ripped the sway bar and springs out of their mounts, but im sure that it didnt break the actually sway bar itself or the springs themselves because like i said, from a shredding or cutting perspective, those pieces are hardened steel and they are the hardest things to shred or cut on a junk car.

  • @oipbhakeld Thx for the info. That explains ALOT!

  • @shashoni109 yeah no problem. remember, springs, torsion bars, and axle shafts are all made out of high carbon hardened steel. these things are the "hardest" things to cut or break on a car from a "cutting" standpoint.

  • @oipbhakeld did ya see the 1 where they aued a rocket sled to literallly cut a car in half as a follow up to the episode mentioned

  • @joecroucher i did. that was a good one. especially when they took the motor out and then hit the car.

  • fucking incredible torque !!

  • straight 6 in germany? bmw

  • Holy shit what a power :O

  • An Engine block is the hardest part on a car, but a shredder like this eats them for Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert.

  • i want this job

  • It looks like them are made from glass.

  • that looks wayyy stronger than the SSI primax

  • put your hand if you dare

  • FEAR!!!!

  • OM NOM NOM!

  • this thing is soo fucking awesome. Want!

  • the harder, the eaysier it breaks. Every Metalworker knows that ;-)

  • thats bruuuutal

  • hmm i wonder how this would work on paper? :)

  • We used to crush cast iron by dropping heavy objects like locomotive engines on it when I worked in scrap yards.Cast shatters very easy as it is not flexible.Same with railroad tracks.Put a piece of railroad track over a pit in the ground and drop a very heavy object in the middle of it.Breaks like glass.

  • You should give tours and let people throw stuff in ....

I would pay 20 bucks to throw an engine block in...

  • jeesuuuuuss

  • LUNCH!

  • WHAT POWER!!!

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I seen a video where they threw a whole car in and it spit it out in little pieces...

  • The Toyota recall processing facility... "we'll have you fixed up in no time".

  • That's almost frightening.

I would like to see a whole engine crank and all go through that thing though.

  • looks like rejected factory defect blocks

  • Terminator, beware!

  • Like cheap modern plastic..... crunch. Now lets see a cast iron block.

  • Sounds more like glass to me.

  • @pyromohanzed Crystalline structure in both glass and cast iron, really not a big difference with this kind of stress.

  • all i say is aluminum blocks lets see a cast iron block go through

  • The engines look like they are made of styrofoam!

  • this was john gotti's favourite machine....lol

  • why do they need to crush them, why not just throw them directly into a furnace and melt them down?

  • you need alot more power to melt it if they are not crushed...

  • Because you can haul more material when its reduced in size, thus making it more cost efficient and reducing trucking fees and so on.

  • it's about increasing the TRANSPORTING capability. more crushed blocks fit on a truck than whole ones

  • 1 reason, because this is cooler

  • Not impressed those look like aluminum blocks. Cast iron would not crumble like that. Over all its cool

  • Nice machine!

But I'd expect the "Worlds most powerful shredder" to handle whole engines, and separate the ferrous metals from the aluminum!

but yeah, it is good for NOS clean Alloy engine blocks like those.

  • HAHA holy shit i like i like haha

  • Don't wanna fall into that monster xD

  • LOL HOW STRONG IS YOURRRRRR ENGINE ? :P

  • Why dont I drop an unused Iraqi bunker buster bomb on your machine while it is running to see who wins. Afterwards, you could fill up the hole with water and have a newly created and landscaped olympic size pool.

  • Holly shit! DAMN!

  • it cant do that to a steel block

  • OMFG!!! Imagine the psi on the pressure points.

  • Is there some limit on the torque on the rotating "teeth", and if so, does the operator keep an eye on a torque gauge? I notice that the gears are reversed periodically..is it because there are too many blocks being chewed at the same time, or is it just to shuffle the stuff around for another reason?

  • I believe it is an AUTOMATIC torque limiter to prevent the shredder from destroying itself. As a result, when it "jams", it reverses to unjam itself.

  • Can you imagine..engine blocks for breakfast. I knew this Mafia guy who worked at a place like this..I always wondered how he could afford that Lamborghini..

  • At my place of employment we have a gear box that weighs almost 12 tons and can almost fit in a bed of a regular pick-up truck (but not recommended). The gear box walls are about 5" thick and are not cast iron. Could the Red Giant eat it whole if you dropped the entire gear box in it with gears an all?

  • shatters them like glass, amazing

  • would it shred cast iron blocks?

  • tell me the price of this machine, please

  • what poweres this beast? What kind of engine?

  • it's a CAT C 18 with around 710 Horsepower and a maxium torgue of 440,000 Nm

  • Powering a hydraulic pump?

  • yes

  • Bright silver color indicates aluminum

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, a big diesel engine would be good.

    But this is still cool.

Are these engine blocks 'rejects' or extra stock? They all appear new or is there some regulation stating they must be cleaned before scrapping?

Inline 6's and 4's - any idea what kind?

    Awesome shredding machine it is!

  • These blocks do not have to be cleaned, they are rejects. Thats why they appear to be new.

Shredding for volume reduction to save space on transport and smaller pieces are easier to melt.

  • volume and energy savings, very cool.

Cannot the shredder be enlarged or 'scaled up' to handle a railroad boxcar for example? Is their value in something that large or does it get too large too maintain and move?

Could you shred an entire tug boat or off-road dump truck? Maybe. But is that the best way to do it?

    Your machine is very impressive.

  • what is the shredder powered by?

  • hydraulics

  • @HAMMELBASA What kind of blocks were they?

  • wow

  • i wanna see this thing tackle a handfull of some iron blocks, aluminum aint much of a challange

  • yea alu isnt that strong give it an old cast iron block and see what happens. also that aluminium looks quite bittle but still thats one strong ass machine!

  • we are working on a demo, the video will be comming up soon!

  • i was woundering...

    is that powered by hydraulics

  • yeh its hydrostatic drive which means its a hydrolic driven motor. looks like a hagglinds set up dont know for sure though

  • holy shit what a fantastic machine! i want to throw nickelback in there. but seriously how much torque does that have at the uhhhhh teeth?

  • i want to see it do that to a complete big block motor ar a complete diesel engine

  • same lol

  • Ilove it to.

  • this is awsome dude i'm only 12 but i love this shit

  • its tossing engine blocks around like i would to a friggin' pebble!

  • How many horsepower does this process require ? I imagine like 1000 or more.

  • The Red Giant has a Caterpillar engine C18 with an horsepower of approx. 700.

  • (Aluminum) Blocks and Heads
