Wow, the fanboy comments on this video are pretty damn outrageous. I love the MGS series, but lets be serious, the game was less than stellar. The constant interruption of 45 minute cut scenes that, realistically, add nothing to the game is pretty frustrating. There's no need to follow an hour cut scene that explained why I can't use the guns (or whatever he was talking about I don't really know I got bored) with a half hour cut scene explaining the same.
I am OK with the cut scenes in MGS4, but I find the controls very horrid. MGS4 is just a whole bunch of annoying ass gameplay and dull cutscenes. It's a bunch of dozing off during cutscenes and spending 10 minutes sneaking, being found, killed, and replaying the same annoying 10 minutes. I loved Heavy Rain, and it was all a semi-cutscene. MGS4 sucks you acknowledge that then turn around and give a thumbs up to Heavy Rain. MGS4 is just a horrible game, not for any one reason.
If you still have your copies of MGS4, you should upload a video of you destroying the disc and the box with something, how fucking hilarious would that be XD
I know you guys are taking a lot of heat for MGS4 but I totally agree with you, I am a hardcore fan of MGS but I totally agree that they went overboard with the cutscenes.
@MatticusFinch1820 Tobin played the second one which is pretty much the first one, and loved it. He played the third one, and didn't enjoy it as much. He has a taste for the GOOD MGS.

Oh man I recently beat NG2 on warrior mode(or whatever the hell "normal" is). Still continuing from my last post. I'm not saying Tobin and Yuzo are wrong or right about MGS4 or few other games they didn't like but I liked even me as a fan thought the cut scenes were too long but unlike the other 3 you couldn't pause them for a break unless you had theater mode(which was in MGS3:subsistence) and seeing the progress of every character from MGS1-4 was amazing sight and close every plot in this game that has going on for 20 years and it make everything fit together.
continuing from my last post. Both of you guys are on act 3 their 5 acts total so yall are about to beat it. The first act in the middle east had the most frequent cut scenes and the last act has the longest. So if you do get a chance maybe yall should finish the game and maybe your opinion the game might change. Tobin and Yuzo yall have played the other 3 MGS games you've been through this before. The game play can be long or short depending if you wanna sneak or just kill people or buy weapons or help rebels. I love MGS games the story has hooked me since the first game and I can't choose just one because each game had so many great moments and characters and plot twist. I wish I could play as Raiden but everyone complained about him in MGS2 and that's why we can't play as him.
I liked MGS4 a lot more when I said "fuck it" to the story and just played the game. I went through it again with the story, but I zoned out so much it was like I skipped the scene. The camera in Ninja Gaiden 2 makes baby dolls cry, like the PS3.

i agree with the review. i loved mgs1 2 and 3 , but mgs 4 was a pile of shit , apart from about 3 hours of it . the problem is obviously the stupid, boring, mundane cutscenes , but also that you get a shit load of weapons that you never get to use properly.

In Nija Gaiden 2 all you have to do is press the right trigger to center the camera its not that bad but it does get a little wonky . But you have to understand that the game is so crazy fast that the camera cant move that quick and in my opinion the small spaces are better for you because you can hit multiple enemies at once so use the camera to your advantage . anytime you are in a small space just use the the Lunar Staff it has a large reach and is your best friend in tight areas

I have no idea what the hell Tobin was talking about when he said that the combat is not deep , are you kidding me , it has the best combo system and the deepest move set then any other game on the market today . This is a thinking mans game , like Yuzo said you CAN NOT button mash in this game if you do then 2 thigs will happen , you'll DIE and you will not appreciate the complexity and beauty of the combo system

Wow, the fanboy comments on this video are pretty damn outrageous. I love the MGS series, but lets be serious, the game was less than stellar. The constant interruption of 45 minute cut scenes that, realistically, add nothing to the game is pretty frustrating. There's no need to follow an hour cut scene that explained why I can't use the guns (or whatever he was talking about I don't really know I got bored) with a half hour cut scene explaining the same.
That being said, I enjoyed the game.

I am OK with the cut scenes in MGS4, but I find the controls very horrid. MGS4 is just a whole bunch of annoying ass gameplay and dull cutscenes. It's a bunch of dozing off during cutscenes and spending 10 minutes sneaking, being found, killed, and replaying the same annoying 10 minutes. I loved Heavy Rain, and it was all a semi-cutscene. MGS4 sucks you acknowledge that then turn around and give a thumbs up to Heavy Rain. MGS4 is just a horrible game, not for any one reason.

Oh man I recently beat NG2 on warrior mode(or whatever the hell "normal" is). I know im not probably not the only one to do this but GOD DAMN the people who have deserve a giant shipment of brownies from team ninja or something 'cuz that shit is rediculous. Still continuing from my last post. I'm not saying Tobin and Yuzo are wrong or right about MGS4 or few other games they didn't like but I liked even me as a fan thought the cut scenes were too long but unlike the other 3 you couldn't pause them for a break unless you had theater mode(which was in MGS3:subsistence) and seeing the progress of every character from MGS1-4 was amazing sight and close every plot in this game that has going on for 20 years and it make everything fit together.

The first act in the middle east had the most frequent cut scenes and the last act has the longest. Tobin and Yuzo yall have played the other 3 MGS games you've been through this before. The game play can be long or short depending if you wanna sneak or just kill people or buy weapons or help rebels. I love MGS games the story has hooked me since the first game and I can't choose just one because each game had so many great moments and characters and plot twist. Do not waste your time...these guys lack brain power....at 15:03 they really show that..."The game is not for us" oh yeah so since it's not that means it's shit...Another thing...whenever every series comes to an end, it's always LONGER to explain the story THAT GOES BACK IN THE 60's...that's alot to cover...but in the end these guys cant play MGS worth a penny...funny how they claim 2 hours of gameplay which is pure horse shit...THIS GAME IS BY FAR A 10.

MGS4 just didn't have the stealth and atmosphere that we have all come to know and love. It was akward, lots of things were unecessary.The girl enemies were a joke. ANDWHATTHEFUCK!!! Mei Ling wasnt Chinese!!!

i dont have a ps3 and this even pisses me off 1 hour and 30 minute cutscene?!!! are you fucking kidding me?! if i had this game id say fuck the story skip every cutscene and enjoy the 2 hours and decent gameplay for 60 bucks what a rip! im glad i dont have a ps3 because id probably get suckered in to buying that shit

I have watched every episode of your show and tho I may not agree with everything you 2 say I have a lot of respect for you guys and thoroughly enjoy your show . You guys are the blue collar game preview/review show and it is funny , informative and the most important thing , you guys are real gamers just like us . Your not doing for the money your doing it for the gamers and the games and I would like to thank the both of you , so thanks ! please dont ever quit, one of the best hours of my week

In Nija Gaiden 2 all you have to do is press the right trigger to center the camera its not that bad but it does get a little wonky . But you have to understand that the game is so crazy fast that the camera cant move that quick and in my opinion the small spaces are better for you because you can hit multiple enemies at once so use the camera to your advantage . anytime you are in a small space just use the the Lunar Staff it has a large reach and is your best friend in tight areas

I have no idea what the hell Tobin was talking about when he said that the combat is not deep , are you kidding me , it has the best combo system and the deepest move set then any other game on the market today . This is a thinking mans game , like Yuzo said you CAN NOT button mash in this game if you do then 2 thigs will happen , you'll DIE and you will not appreciate the complexity and beauty of the combo system

i remember when they said that this game would be impossible to fit on a 360 disc, i wonder if the cut scenes werent so long could they port it "(not a fan boy, i have and love all three systems for what they're good at).

couldnt you just skip the cutscenes and then use the codec to ask where you have to go next? then you wouldnt have to watch the cutscenes and could ignore the story entirely. :)
