Does Nissan & Infinity have Navigation motion lockout? I've always wanted to buy a Lexus but their navigation motion-lockout pretty much ruined an otherwise very nice car. Acura's navi doesn't do this, so at least consumers can use what they pay for. I hate how some companies treat consumers like idiots and lockout the navi when the car is in motion. I guess they are scared of law suits...

I work at a Nissan dealership and yes, the Maxima's navi does have navigation motion lockout, same with when you're trying to set up the bluetooth feature on the car. It's all in the name of lawsuits. Nissan doesn't want anyone getting in a crash and blaming it on a feature in the Nissan they were driving.

for the maximas mid refresh,it should have a face lift, put a liquid graphite finish on wheels for sport models,give it the VQ37HR with improved gas mileage,all auto windows,rear HVAC controls on the sport models,a nissan rear seat entertainment system,a 6spd manual option,make a lightweight dual panel moonroof,PLEASE return the power-folding mirrors,and for god sake,give the dang car TWO auto dimming mirrors instead of one!reply to add to the list of things nissan should do for the max refresh

the digital display was great, while the system worked and the car was still under warranty. Our DDS in our 1986 Maxima went out in 1996, but would flick on and off from time to time. also my aunt whom still has her 1992 240SX her has been out so long, that she's gotten more use to driving without it. myself included, it's sad but if I would have ever been stopped by a cop and asked how fast, I really wouldn't have known.

i do like the 09 max, alot. but nissan held back on a few things like the power folding mirrors, dual atuo dimming mirrors just to name a few.

so youre telling me that you would rather get a base model maxima instead of a fully loaded sport or premium model? the only cheap add-ons that never last long are those after- market radios like pioneer, sony, and jensen. and those after market sound systems that completly displace a cars structure. and those after market exhaust systems like stillen, borla, and greedy. I dont know about you but those "cheap knock-ons" you speak of last longer than all of these after-market things

Yet again maybe it was me being the uneducated one in this case because my answer may have been misunderstood!But there is no base model maxima bub its all flagship but what I'm saying is people should be careful not to add on too much to a car because of how it can turn a great car into mush! I would say get what they give standard and in the long run you'll see your car lasting a lot longer!

thats not what im saying. if you can get a NISSAN made navigation system that comes WITH the car, get it! if you can get a very excellent sound system like Bose that comes WITH the car, get it! they may not be standard, but those things are what NISSAN made, so they too can last as long as standard equippment.
