Fantastic. Well done and I think canon should give you a nice christmas present for promoting their product. I have been researching point and shoot cameras and have come to this little gem which will make a great present for my girlfriend :)
Too bad YouTube couldn't do the pix quality justice, ah well, still amazing. I'm visually impaired n I'll never see a bee that clear in my life, so that was real cool to me. More I see, more I want this cam, I'mma get it soon!
This was a really good video you made! It showed a lot of features that no other people have shown with their powershots. I have had my sd1100 for a little over a week and i like it a lot. Again great video.
love your puppy!!!!! and thank you soooooo much i am asking for one of these for my birth day and no1 made a clip of the color features, zoom, ect. thanks soooooooooooo much o and beautiful hoe!!!! 5*s
That time lapse clip with your dog and Canon running in the background... honestly looks like a piece of art to me. Nice! ;) I think that was what made me buy this camera in the end.
-Then put whatever color you would like to exclude in the center of that box and then press the right side of the circle, it has the icon of the flower and mountain.
-You will now see that color in the center of the box at the bottom of the screen. That color will accented in the picture while everything else appears in black and white.
-Press the DISP. button again and you are ready to take the picture.
As far as the zoom being blurry on videos, I think it's slow to focus but most point & shoots are like that. Now that i think of it, Most compact cameras with video doesn't even allow you to zoom. Only for taking still photographs. The only bummer is that you can't stitch the panorama shots in the camera, you have to use the software on your computer. The Kodak M3310 allows you to do it in the camera.
Can you stitch together more than 3 pics for panorama shots?
The blurriness in the video occurs because once you start the recording, the lens is locked into place and when you zoom in it goes into digital zoom which lowers the quality of the video.
No it's not a dumb question. You can record on this camera for as long as the battery last or until the SD card is full. It is highly recommended to get extra batteries and 4GB or higher SDHC card. I've read that the SDHC cards do a better job of recording video than the standard SD card. I hope this helped.
Thanks man and yes it helped. I'm planning to get this exact camera in a few days, and I'll look into those sdhc cards. Now I just hope that the camera is really 160$ now like I've been hearing lol thanks alot.
-You can choose how specific you want the color to be selected by tapping on the top of the circle or the bottom of the circle. You will see the number change on the bottom left.
-once you decided the intensity of the color you chose (is fun to play with the intensity) then press the DISP button again and it will take you back to picture taking mode.
-Once in picture taking mode you will see on the screen the color you accented and everything else will be gray or black.
-You may notice that while you were setting everything up the image on the screen seemed to flash black and white. Well this is suppose to give you get an idea of what adjustments you have made to the color choice. I don't think it helps. It's best to chose the color then go into the picture taking mode and if you don't like it, repeat the first couple of steps until you like what you see on the screen before you take the picture.
BUT i forgot to mention that the pictures do come out super clear with the zoom and normal setting, so i love this cam so far :-) Thanks to your vid for this great review!
Sorry I meant to hit reply and I hit remove :-( anyway the Macro setting is best done under good lighting. Just make sure that when you take a picture to hold the button down half way until the focus box turns green. Then hold the camera still and press the button all the way down.
In the dark make sure that the red beam is on and that you set the ISO (push the up botton on the circle in manual mode) is on HI.
All the videos posted in the "Response Video Section" were also made with my Canon Powershot 1100IS (Canon IXUS 80IS). It's easy and fun I love it. Make sure to click on "watch in high quality" found under # of views, to get the best example of what this camera can do.
hi again, I have a few questions, i would really appreciate your reply :-)
1. since the zoom doesnt work great WHILE recording, does it zoom before you begin recording the video?
2. I thought that the video is imported in the comp. as mvi, but i just found out that with this camera, the vids imported as avi file. so my question is how did u the video up on youtube with the avi file?? because when i used the avi and then converted it to wmv for youtube, the video was not even visible! THANKS!
1. Yes you can zoom into something focus and then start recording and the quality turns out well. But once you start recording and try to zoom in, the clarity goes down. But if you start zoomed and keep it there, the video quality is good.
2.The video file is saved on the camera memory card as an .avi file. I used Windows movie maker to edit the clips. When finished editing I clicked on save to my computer.
Then I name it, hit next, choose the option "other settings" then scrolled down and selected High quality video (large). It saves as a .wmv, and I upload that file onto youtube.
You can directly upload the .avi files without editing as long as it's not too big (time or size).
2,000 total, but not stored on one card. I constantly download the pictures off of my camera. I have a 2GB SD card that I have from a previous camera as a back up card, but the one that is in my Camera at all times is a 4GB SDHC card. I bought it on sale for about $18.00. I've read that the SDHC has a quicker processing time than a regular SD card. Since the SDHC processing is quicker it does a better job of recording video and is faster at downloading from the camera onto the computer.
-I've had this camera for about 20 days and have taken over 2000 pics with it. The only set back I see to the camera is that is doesn't take quick back to back pictures when you have to use the flash. Having said that the FLASH works great in the dark.
-Other than that it has been a GREAT camera. It's small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and starts quickly to get those special moment pics. I also enjoy the video quality and time laps.
Check out pics taken by the camera found in "more info"sec.

digitalcamerainfo(dot)com is a good place to compare the two cameras. Although the Sony camera is stylish, Canon has better picture quality.
You can compare actual pictures taken by people form the two cameras at flickr(dot)com.
Just scroll down to find the link: Camera Finder.
Good luck deciding. :-)

The function is called Color Accent.
Turn on the camera in camera mode.
-Press the FUNC. SET key in the center of the circle.
-Press to the right of the circle (picture of a lightning bolt) until the red cursor highlights the eyedropper with the letter A.
-Press the FUNC. SET button again. You are now in the Color Accent mode.
-Press the DISP. button. The screen will look like it is flashing and a small square will be in the center of the screen.
jgarcia19 3 years ago
-Then put whatever color you would like to exclude in the center of that box and then press the right side of the circle, it has the icon of the flower and mountain.
-You will now see that color in the center of the box at the bottom of the screen. That color will accented in the picture while everything else appears in black and white.
