Every time i forget to turn autoplay off, so once i have finished watching a videos, i go to leave a comment, and it goes to the next video, so im leaving a comment on the wrong vid....arggg

oh and great video guys....can you get mould and plaster from your website?

  • these guys make me feel proud to play 40k

  • the girl said oh ya like 5 times in the end

  • So I bet how you make the base molds is you start with 3D printer?

  • lmfao the ending!

  • intro is soooo sad xd

  • wet water?

  • no custom models? lame...

  • use de force!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the bubbles just make the rocks look more cracked!

  • I'd love to make terrain for a living.

  • Is this for Warhammer or Lord of the rings

  • This was the very first miniwargaming video I saw, about 2 years ago. I was searching for mould making, and I ended up becoming a Warhammer fan.

  • pritty cool molding. how would you glue the molds together or do they not get put together?

PS: I've been a big fan of fireman Tim and hope to see more of your work.

  • its molds not moulds

  • does any1 know where you can get hirst art moulds if u live in the uk?

  • couldnt you have shown us the part with the paper towels. please that would have helped alot

  • Hey I want some of that Colombian!!

  • is woodlands scenis hydrocal the equevelant of your hydrocal?

  • very cool

  • =] thx

  • 2:44

    Wet-water.

  • jet-water*

  • so funy

  • lol

  • @Totallydistortedfilm you know that that means that there is also dry water

  • @Totallydistortedfilm yes wet-water is a mixture of jet dry and water to lower the viscosity of water and lubericate the mold

  • OMG SHE STABBED HIM!!! is he ok? .... great vid guys :)

  • you can use this for WH40K units if you got molds?

  • Seeing how its plaster, and not Plastic or metal, I'd doubt it, seeing how the new Marine, Ork, or whatever the hell you made could easily break or crack.

  • fireman tim RULES!!!

  • Extremely Helpful, <3 you guys at Mini War gaming!

  • lol, "should have soaked it with wet water"

  • another good way to get the bubbles out is to leave the molds on a vibrating table as they are setting these are expensive though so if you like cheap stuff you have two options you can steal a vibrator and fashion your own vibrating table (expect the owner of the vibrator to get pissed at you) or a less life threatening solution is to place the molds on top of a tumble dryer whilst its in use

  • I don't know why those vibraing tables cost so much. All you have to do is take apart a playsation2 controler and get those motors out that vibrates then you just put that motor onto a piece of balsa wood. Hook the motor up to a 12v or 9v battery.

  • This is vid legend btw, oh and thanks to MeetTheCryptid for the ps2 suggestion, may have to buy one of those cheapy controllers and dismantle. create improvisation.

  • I just use my hair trimmer for my resin castings. I lay in on its side on the table, it vibrates it like hell. Too bad I live in an apartment, otherwise i could have it going for alot longer. Still have have almost no problems with bubbles, and i don't cast under pressure or anything

  • @cyberakuma666 Luckily for some people!(not going to say who) their girl get hot by wargaming; moulding/casting...and course vibrators. SO WIN WIN!! hahaha great advice beat meh to the punch!

  • @cyberakuma666 or cheaper and less life threatening again. Buy a vibrator

  • @cyberakuma666 Lol

    drying machine good enough?

  • @cyberakuma666 A cheap electric toothbrush worked really well for us. But we used dental stone not hyrdocal. The dental stone is really tough, but super heavy. Our octogonal tower fell off the pool table and we had 1 chipped block and just had to reglue the two halves together. Weldbond glue is a must. Good bonding strength. Don't forget to sand the blocks a bit if they are a little high.

  • mmmm terrain

  • lol he sleeping

  • im no kid im a tween lol

  • i liked it but i need yhose molds so were did you get them

  • it is in the description read!

  • where do you get the moulds

  • really good tutorial.

  • hey tim what molds did u purchase for your space hulk terrain project. im considering purchasing a few and doing a similar project. great tutorial btw.

  • can u get other molds like necron stuff (eg terrain or anything)and where can i get the molds and the plasta and the water stuff you where talking about

  • Silly question maybe, but are there any places you can actually buy those molds? :<

  • cool thank you for showing us how to do it

  • cool

  • lol soak it in wet water XD

  • By wet water he means the stuff he talked about before, Water and Jet-Dry.

  • I appreciate how simple you made it. Makes it seem much more doable and less than the pain in the butt I thought they would be. Can anyone share their experiences with painting them up and possibly quick and easy methods to do that? That would be great.

  • 0:1 the best

  • Thanks for the video, nice and fun and helpful.

  • wow this vid is really helpful

  • Comment removed

  • he made his owns moulds then put some of the mould stuff in it but when he paints them its dosnt look to good

  • i know a guy his friend made some space marine moulds and when he needs some he moulds them

  • can u explain how?

  • think of a ring mould except with space marine details at least thats what my mould looks like :P

  • i LOVE the hirstarts moulds, I have 33 of them. Damn exchange rate sucks right now, I really 'need' to get some of the others!!! WOW, you leave them for an hour before you de-mould! Use hydrostone man, it sets up in 15-20 minutes depending on ambient temperature.

  • thnx fire man tim, helpful vid

  • if you think fire man tim should make a terrain making series copy Ghillewarrior's comment that is under this one.

  • fire man tim should do his own terrain making tips and tricks wolk threws (ect. ect.) for his own mini series

  • where do u buy plaster

  • You can buy it from hobby stores, big buckets at hardware stores like home depot, or online

  • I have woodland scenics brand lightweight hydrocal, and it floats on the top of the water, so what do I do?

  • Nevermind, it turns out (i did a little ubermaths) that it has to be 2.5 part hydrocal to 1 part water, haha

  • uhhhhh...ouch?

  • Indeed nice work will try that for sure

  • lol "matt i dont mant to work today" "daves cheatng" ding

    lol

  • And dont forget "Yes, i'm spiderman"

  • Thank you thank you thank you. Now I just need to learn how to make molds.

  • nice, howed you get the mold's from the dungeons and dragons thing?

  • cool

  • this was a great tutorial. I was planning on getting these moulds thanks for the indepth tutorial!

  • Gotta get the Moulds!!! O_O

  • where I can buy this moulds ? are u guys selling those ?

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! BEATEN BY A GIRLE!

  • Sexist

  • Those moulds look interesting. I guess if you made the moulding near enough plant life, they could contribute to absorbing some of the oxygen in the bubbles, which would make them smaller.

  • allright that should help with making terrain

  • My buddy found Hirst Arts a few years back, I bought some castings from him and we made some pretty increadible terrain pieces. I wish I had some pictures to put up or a vid, but I stand by these molds for sure.

  • Great tutorial. I've always wanted to know how to make use molds. Thx

  • whats the difference between green stuff and clay?

  • Green stuff is a 2 part epoxy that allows for very detailed work. Even after it's set, it keeps a certain amount of flexibility which makes it easy to work with.

Oh, and it sticks like a mofo unlike clay.

  • Ok, thanks

  • Nice tutorial, I'd like to see some 'GREEN STUFF' how to videos also! Stuff like the sand-bags and hats/helmets that people take for granted and is a lot harder to do than it looks.

  • I like this tutorial, though the next time you all do one I wish you'd be 100% ready for it.

  • he was 100% ready, he has a spoon encase he was hungry

  • I heard that!!

  • yes everyone heard him say it to

  • I was talking about the JetDry solution that they were talking about.
