is it possible to [ush a shoullder pad into a mould to get the sculpt and then do it again for the other side of the shoulder, wait till the mould dries, then put a ball of green stuff in the middle of pushing the two molds together to mass produce the shoulder pad? pls msg me if done this before and the correct method its only a theory to me
does anyone else hate this toolbar at the bottom that shows up every time you click on one of your subscription or recommended videos? Every time i forget to turn autoplay off, so once i have finished watching a videos, i go to leave a comment, and it goes to the next video, so im leaving a comment on the wrong vid....arggg
oh and great video guys....can you get mould and plaster from your website?
Seeing how its plaster, and not Plastic or metal, I'd doubt it, seeing how the new Marine, Ork, or whatever the hell you made could easily break or crack.
another good way to get the bubbles out is to leave the molds on a vibrating table as they are setting these are expensive though so if you like cheap stuff you have two options you can steal a vibrator and fashion your own vibrating table (expect the owner of the vibrator to get pissed at you) or a less life threatening solution is to place the molds on top of a tumble dryer whilst its in use
I don't know why those vibraing tables cost so much. All you have to do is take apart a playsation2 controler and get those motors out that vibrates then you just put that motor onto a piece of balsa wood. Hook the motor up to a 12v or 9v battery.
This is vid legend btw, oh and thanks to MeetTheCryptid for the ps2 suggestion, may have to buy one of those cheapy controllers and dismantle. create improvisation.
I just use my hair trimmer for my resin castings. I lay in on its side on the table, it vibrates it like hell. Too bad I live in an apartment, otherwise i could have it going for alot longer. Still have have almost no problems with bubbles, and i don't cast under pressure or anything
@cyberakuma666 Luckily for some people!(not going to say who) their girl get hot by wargaming; moulding/casting...and course vibrators. SO WIN WIN!! hahaha great advice beat meh to the punch!
@cyberakuma666 A cheap electric toothbrush worked really well for us. But we used dental stone not hyrdocal. The dental stone is really tough, but super heavy. Our octogonal tower fell off the pool table and we had 1 chipped block and just had to reglue the two halves together. Weldbond glue is a must. Good bonding strength. Don't forget to sand the blocks a bit if they are a little high.
hey tim what molds did u purchase for your space hulk terrain project. im considering purchasing a few and doing a similar project. great tutorial btw.
can u get other molds like necron stuff (eg terrain or anything)and where can i get the molds and the plasta and the water stuff you where talking about
I appreciate how simple you made it. Makes it seem much more doable and less than the pain in the butt I thought they would be. Can anyone share their experiences with painting them up and possibly quick and easy methods to do that? That would be great.
i LOVE the hirstarts moulds, I have 33 of them. Damn exchange rate sucks right now, I really 'need' to get some of the others!!! WOW, you leave them for an hour before you de-mould! Use hydrostone man, it sets up in 15-20 minutes depending on ambient temperature.
sweet! iv been thinking about getting some hirst arts moulds for a while, good to know they work out as well as it sounds on the site! can't wait to see the space hulk board finished btw!

whats the difference between green stuff and clay?
ferman28rules 3 years ago
Green stuff is a 2 part epoxy that allows for very detailed work. Even after it's set, it keeps a certain amount of flexibility which makes it easy to work with.
Oh, and it sticks like a mofo unlike clay.
