  • very well done!

  • What a beautiful wagon!

  • 0:30 incredible I don't think I've ever seen such a solid floor

  • thats right. i fucking love summins .. thats what im doing with my jeep

  • Ultra nice work ,you are very profecional God bless you

  • very cool!

  • wow what a beauty! nice work!!!

  • Well done. Do you think I could make an intercooler work? Should be enough room for a zf/6 np/271?

  • I have done a lot or research because that's exactly what I want to do to my 83 Wagoneer. Did you ever have any problems with the weight or torque of the Cummins damaging the frame?

  • Nice dude!

This is basically the exact truck I've been wanting to build for the past few years.

What transmission do you have hooked up? Did you swap out the axles also?

  • Awesome!

  • Beautiful Jeep, i love old cherokee's

  • Looks like there was a lot of cancer in the floor.

  • awsome!!! wish my waggy had one. that goes on the list of coolest fsj s ever!

  • original trans ?

  • That was a lot of work, and good detailing too. Beautiful job and a good choice for a conversion. :-)

  • ok thats just badass nuff said

  • WOW! armleuchter11, you're the Jeep God. That is a awesome Chief! I want one in a wagoneer.

  • great conversion... did that with a 79 bronco... you gonna mess with the p pump at all?? since you are already running a nv4500 tranny

  • so sick.

  • some needs to put a 7.3 in one

  • Awesome rig, did you reinforce the frame at all? the 6bt is just a tad bit heavier than the 360 ;)

  • I've always loved American SUVs. The thing I've never liked was the fuel economy that's expected from them. With all the torque the engine puts out, you could tow a boat or a travel trailer down the bahn and still keep up with traffic.

  • i would want one of those just to have as a tow rig for my xj!

  • the only thing I would do, is put larger brakes on all four corners. Outstanding job. V.

  • That is so epic. Great job guys!!!

  • europe?

  • your my hero

  • Aw man I've wanted one of those since I was like 13!

  • Great Cherokee and a great job buddy! I´m on my way to buy one and put in a Patrol diesel turbo 6 in it. I had that one since 94 and it runs and sounds just like yours.

  • My dad put a 4bt cummins in a 1999 cherokee(xj) that motor you used was the 6bt awesome they make loads of power my dads 4bt is a torque monster too

  • Great vid!! Great job on the jeep.!!

  • Guess u had to regear it since cummins is low revving?

Thats a heavy engine for a jeep!

    A daf truck u say?

  • is that a Kinetic Italget Dragster scooter?

  • wow, i gotta say, the hiss from the turbo is it?..is quite tantalizing, im sure you have loads of torque!

  • i would love this baby as a tow rig. i love it!

  • Vrey very cool build up and video

  • This is one of the BEST videos I have seen for a long time.

  • This is the coolest Cherokee I've ever seen, flawless restoration and a most excellent choice of engine! :)

  • do you have an Email so I can ask some questions on how to do it? I have a 77 Cherokee and I was gonna drop a Cummins in it. I need some answers please.

  • I like it.

  • did you swap out the front springs looks a little wieghted

  • 24v right?

  • definatly a 12

  • I am sure this has been said but thats a wagoneer dude.

  • It's a Cherokee Chief. The Original Cherokee before they began producing the XJ's in 84. Also know as a FSJ and like you said a Wagoneer.

  • Four doors makes it a Waggy, Two doors make it a Cherokee...I own a Cherokee;)

  • I want to do a diesel swap in my 83. I have the 4.2 258 gas motor. What motor you runnin?? I want to swap a 6 cylinder!!

  • I love this concept. I have too many projects right now, but this diesel Jeep makes so much sense on so many levels, I have to build one like this.

I'd rather have the 4 door model though for the utility. Awesome work!

  • awesome man...absolutely awesome...:)

  • I've always wanted to do this wiht a old '75 4-door Wagoneer! Ever seen it done?

  • fantastic work 5 star

  • nice Vid ya'll

  • It´s amazing that someone in germany actually takes the time, got the paitience and the knowlage to such a rebuild. Great job guy´s

  • I wish I could restore my 1977 Jeep Cherokee Chief. Unfortunately, I neither have the time, money, or knowledge on how to restore a vehicle in as bad cosmetic damage as mine is. Unfortunately, mine is mostly sitting around rusting. I do off-road in it in the summertime on this one trail near where I live, which is good, because it keeps it from just sitting and rusting, it keeps the Jeep active.

  • it's so awesome to see a fellow jeeper who takes care and restores these awesome FSJs and doesn't let them just sit around with snow plows on the front letting them rust... great job guys

  • just wanted to complement your work. a friend of mine just did a 4 cly turbo diesel in his wrangler. it's funny when you stop at a light people look at you like it has a malfunctioning gas engine..

  • awesome.. especially the fact it was done in foreign lands.

  • armleuchter11,you guys also did a 1990 chevy 3/4 ton Suburban,which you also put a cummins in.

  • nice

  • awsome!!

  • this must have a 1989 to 1998 Dodge Cummins 12-valve diesel engine I assume.

  • it's got a P-pump, so it's 94-98

  • thank u fnearing

  • where the hell is the black smoke?

    nice job tho!

  • Very cool swap!..I have a 401ci engine in my 78 Jeep Cherokee....Keep it up!

    AMC FOR LIFE!

  • Very cool swap. AMC meanns All Makes of Cars so why not go all out

  • Awesome job! Nice video too!

PS. how much MPG does this engine get in your truck?

  • besides the engine mounts, what did you have to modify to fit the cummins and tranny in?

  • that looks like very hard work i could never do that

    good job

  • Nice, finally a restoration video instead all the douches that insist on destroying cars like this one...

  • Wow. Very well done.

  • 12 valve from the looks of things

  • whats the story on that 1981 AMC Jeep? I know it's a diesel, but is it a 4-speed, 5-speed, what? Other than that, nice work to the Jeep.

  • Originally a V8... they converted it to a diesel. If it was originally a stick, which it looks like, it was a 5-speed.

  • They say the transmission is a T-176. I own 2 jeeps with the same trany - its a 4 speed.

  • Very impressive!! nice work!

  • i've got the same thing... kinda... mine's a '92 dodge frame,engine,tranny, axles with a 77 cherokee body

  • this is the coolest thing i've even seen, i LOVE diesel motors

  • whatever... looks like a american cummins to me.

  • Thats German Engineering right there.

  • german made diesel, american made jeep and workings

  • says right in the "about this Video" that it is a cummins which is american diesel. Its the same used in dodge trucks and that sure looks exactly like a 5.9 L cummins

  • yea

    but the sound is wierd

  • nice Jeep, i have the same car. its a 1977 Jeep Cherokee Chief. i dont have a diesel in it, i have the original 6 litre V8 with a double barrel carb. and hydraulic lifters. the engine is mated to a 4 speed manual transmission and equipped with a 4 wheel drive two speed transfer case. it's got heavy duty leaf spring suspension (front and rear), skid plates underneath most of the car, and to top it all off, shes got a nice set of large, high flotation tires to ride on. how does that sound?

  • 12v turbo cummins

  • Wakin up the dogs lol. :D

  • Sounds just like a big rig, nice!!

  • I want, I want!! I've dreamed of doing this with my Cherokee since I first got 4 years ago. I knew it would work!

  • Kann man das deutsche Wertarbeit nennen?^^ Ich glaube schon ;-)

  • If that truck went down my road i'd think it would be a semi.

  • Awesome. Beautiful car!

The man with the golden hands.

  • that is incredibly cool. awesome swap, keep up the good work.

  • I'd rather be cummins it than stroken it XD

  • Ya and I'd rather be Stroked then Rammed

  • want it

  • goto carolina beach in wilmington onrth carolina, that is fun, you can drive out there in the jeep

  • thats a waste of a good cummins ha ha ha lol

  • That is way cool. I love those Cummins diesels and a P Pumped 6BTA is hard to beat. Check out the conversion my father and I did on a 58 Dodge Power Wagon, its under my videos.

    -Dave

  • rattle rattle rattle rattle

  • 12 valve mechanical cummins

  • Did this Jeep have "quadra trac"? If so, did you and could you keep it with the new drivetrain? It would be almost unstoppable!

  • pregnant hot bellydancers are goddesses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that's trippy to see

  • I'm totally jealous. Any idea of the weight difference between the Cummins and the AMC V8? Did you install heavier front springs/shocks?

  • what trans did u use for that, an NV4550?

  • thats an evil badass swap dude

  • Awesome!!! What a perfect candidate for a Cummins!

My Dad had a '76 Cherokee "S" very similar to that!

  • lol germans

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Thats one great old Jeep well done for the very interesting video!!

  • thanks!

  • hi, im from mex n i have a Ford Bronco 4x4 eddie bawer whit a power stroke 7.3, my dad did that

    congrat ur jeep is good!

  • WUNDERBAR! I'm gonna have to build one of these things after the Rambler street sleeper is done!

  • many thanks.

good luck and have fun with your rambler!!

  • have yuall taen her muddin yet

  • that was AWSOME!!!! I'm doing a turbo diesel covertion my self on a xj.

  • how r u doing it? using a conversion kit or plans from somewhere? let me know some details...im interested too

  • hi wolfgang. very interesting! what for a dieselengine use you for the xj conversion? best reg. thoralf

  • I'd like to know more about this conversion also. did you fit the intercooler (charged air cooler) in there?

  • G-d thats sexy :)

  • That's awesome. Really good work. Have you done a write up on the conversion? I know plenty of people are interested in fitting a 6 cyl Cummins into an FSJ.
