  • I guess if you die doing something you love it's not all bad....

  • They did a really good job masking the fact that they could not hear Elaine.

  • at 6:35 whos plane is that it looks like it crashed or something is that plane they were flying because it looks like a different color than the one in they were flying in

  • @TTBurger88 - the plane used through most of this episode was a different aircraft. They couldn't use the original because, as you saw at the end it was written off (broken landing gear and propeller). The images of the plane with it's nose down at the end was the real actual plane she managed to land. :)

  • @TheNerdSauce ah i see thanks i thought it was just a plane they put by richards grave stone or something

  • its funny they say when you go to heaven you dont really feel anything, everythings just good, but i bet a million bucks he felt so proud looking down on her after that. awesome.

  • 4:35 - 5:10 awwww

  • he died! :'(

  • didnt mythbusters say that nobody has ever had to be talked down in a plane

  • @champfoster - no, they proved that you CAN be talked down and land a plane successfully - there are many many examples of people having to be talked into landing a plane, everything from small planes like the one you just saw here right up to 737's when the pilot and co-pilot become incapacitated. This story wouldn't have made the 911 series if it wasn't true.

  • stay tuned for our next episode "terror on the sea"

  • Very FUNNY-LOL!

  • This segment was awesome. I must say it has to be one of my favorites. What a brave woman to keep her cool like that. It is sad that her hubby died, great story.

  • Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing...

Here it definitly held true, not smooth, not elegant and not cheap... But she survived.

  • Wow she did a great job that would be so scary.

  • good on her.

  • It's great to see a woman who's so calm in a dire situation! Most of the women in other videos are very annoying- they would scream hysterically adding more distress to the paramedics who were trying to revive people.

  • wow, wanna make a comment more general than that?

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP!!

  • wow, and you say women are the ones responsible for hysterical outbursts. Or are you a woman? No, you can't be, although I'm a woman, and I haven't made any - certainly haven't yelled at someone to "shut the fuck up" in an hysterical manner :)

hilarious response, buddy, will have me giggling all day

  • 5/5

  • very sad about death, very strong nice lady!

  • RIP Richard. <3

You must be very proud of your wife x3

  • how sad that he died, how can you cope with that, amazingly strong emotionally person!

    Well Done

    RIP Richard

  • She amazes me... I sucked so much on my first flight.. I couldn't even talk on the radio... but she handled it so well im impressed! I would be shocked and would have probably smashed that thing into the everglades... Her husband would have been very proud! Very good job from the flight instructor too!

  • Wow. The woman remained amazingly calm throughout the ordeal. I would of been freaking out. Props to her. (:

  • Richard would be proud of her. Like she said he died doing what he loved. RIP

  • i can belive that he died if he would be alive he would be proud

  • this is a long segment but its really good.

  • speaking of this segment my great grandma died of a massive heartattack right in the hospital march 26, 2009.

  • today was the funeral for my great grandma.

  • Way to go for her but also way to go for ol'e Richard too because he died while flying and you can't beat that! For those of us who cannot be pilots, I'm alittle jealous of the flying aspect but I'm glad this gentleman got to go while having fun ! Real nice!

  • nooooooooooooooo it can't be that the hubby died it lands on two that he passed on

  • Amazing flight instructors and an incredible woman!!!

  • What a cool lady...such a great outlook on life. She should take flight lessons!

  • brave women..thank god she got down safely!. I have a friend i go flying with in a plane like that if that ever happened id be freaking out!

  • Is she still alive?

  • well she looks about 70 in the vid and this was 17 or so years ago so if she is healthy then mabey

  • He died! They never die. Aw that makes me so sad.

  • actually yes Rescue 911 had deaths Guadalupe river rescue a.k.a. churchbus, pilot/117, #520 Butane huffing., #106 "Baltimore cops".

  • @meggiemeg86 yea but how cool to go out doing what makes you the happiest, thats how i hope i go, quick, but doing something that makes me happy.

  • @meggiemeg86 There are a few where someone dies. My favorite episode is where a man jumps in the river to save two young boys who got caught in and under current. The boys survived due to his efforts, but he died after being caught in t he under current himself.

  • @meggiemeg86 there have been episodes where they die 9and idiots beg for them which I don't understand why)

  • This and the two remaining parts tell the story of the 'Real' Airport 1975. No Hollywood actors, no stunts, no budget. This was a realtime account. Elaine did wonderfully. She should be acknowledged for her efforts if she hasn't already.

  • thats a scary thing to happen in flight, a similar thing happened to me 1 year ago, the person i was with had to in to a non awake state i had no clue how to fly, but was guided down by the flight center, bad thing was the front gear collapsed on landing i had come in to fast..

  • I did not know flying a plane was so easy :)

  • It's easy if learn it like anything else.

  • what a amazing and brave women, bless her

  • Amazing how Elaine could do this without training. The trainer is right this is the hardest part of the training.

  • llama

  • Request: the "that was my child" segment, a.k.a. "Resurrection Rescue"

  • Just wondering I did not quite hear how old he was I am sure he was too young when he died!

  • 67 yo

  • That is young!

  • Elaine rocks. :)

  • noo it can't be that he d+ied

  • The plane is probably one of the worst places to have a heart attack. Since the husband was out so long, they couldn't say him. I'm glad the wife and friend survived.

  • Man out of the Rescue 911 episodes ever made that one was the most intense but also the most cool ! I loved it that Richard died doing that. Wouldn't want to go any other way....Geeeez that was cool !

    Elaine was the bomb !

    Right on !

  • Like he literaly died up in heaven.

Or he died soaring like an eagle.

  • He died quickly doing what he loved, with his wife by his side. Nobody could ask for a better ending. Glad his wife and friend were not hurt.

  • if you're a fan of gore/bloody segments baby ej's segment is on here also from this episode.

  • It makes me think of my grandfather.

  • Awesome video!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh, that's sad that he died.

  • just like #119 where a train hits a car and kills a man's wife the same happens here where a husband suffers a heartattack and dies and the wife is alone for awhile.

  • Working on it

  • She's pretty notorious for spamming that same comment on every Rescue 911 video uploaded.

  • Pretty immature.
