So David didn't make it as a talk radio host - but he's still got IT!

This is why these guys made it on radio, and why they'll always be one of my favorate bands -

They have ..... IT..... and with Dave in the the line up, they've always been one of the better and most entertaining live bands to see.

The tour was a success because of nostalgia... However I find it hard to believe that their future tours will be as successful. Simply because they are cutting out a lot of fans. Especially the ones that refuse to pay $200 to see a show were none of their favorite songs are being played... Like me! say what you want about Sammy, but at least he was man enough to sing Roth tunes!

They don't need to play the Hagar Era songs. The first six albums of material (DLR) blow away anything from the Hagar Era. Those albums are masterpieces... Um they sold out or came close to capacity on every date of the Tour. There will be new Van Halen Material with David Lee Roth in the near future.. Eddie was quoted in several interviews stating this...

Whether DLR's songs blow away Sammy's songs is debatable.. And that's the point, they're alienating A LOT OF FANS who love and would like to hear the Sammy Era tunes!

I acknowledged that the tour was a success, all be it based on nostalgia. The original Eagles and Kiss reunion tours broke all sorts of records, But what happened after the nostalgia ended? Mediocrity!

As far as new material with Roth goes, I remember hearing that back in '96... That didn't work out so great!

They are great here. This is real VH. Personal opinion: Roth better than hagar. I know every VH song backwards and forwards, but roth rocks more than hagar. I like the hagar stuff a lot, don't get me wrong. But I cant listen to every hagar album all the way through. But I can listen to any dave album all the way through 5 times in a row without skippink a single song. Dave music was harder music and more rockin music. However, i agree that VH never had a filler song.

Sorry, I disagree unless you know this first hand. I was at the Chicago concert last Octobr and EVH was outstanding. At the Lvegas show, he was not himself for whatever reason and made mistakes on his guitar and shortened his solos. I was in the 6th row behind stage... Come on, its not hard to tell when someone's under the influence.. of whatever... Doesn't mean we think less of him, anyway. REHAB IS ABOUT FAILING FROM TIME TO TIME... Sheesh.

Something was up with Eddie at this show. I was there and I don't know why, but he just seemed a little out of it. I saw them in Portland in December and they all were firing on all cylinders. I was at the 2-20 show as well and thought they were much better than the week before. At all 3 shows Dave, Alex and Wolfie were totally awesome and professional. I'm not going to say Eddie was drunk, sober or whatever because I don't know. Where are you getting your information?

Valerie Bertinelli release a statement saying that eddie didn't return to rehab or had a fight with wolfgang. She also stated that eddie at this show was not feeling to good and feeling very weak and sick during the show and tried his best during show.

IMO, this 2-12-08 Sunrise show, the 2-16-08 Jacksonville performance, and even the so far final - Ed stumbles over his pedals and falls flat on his back before pulling down the amp cabinet after Jump - 2-20-08 Sunrise concert all sounded much better than this sound clip would have some believe. I hope whatever is ailing Ed and VH soon heals. I am thankful I saw them when I did. This prolonged postponement must be wrecking peoples commitments, schedules and travel plans. Van Halen rocks!

I too am grateful to be have been able to see them while I could. Although the concert wasn't worth the money in regards to the quality of the performance, I'm still happy to be able to say I saw them. But think of the 5 months of preparation and practice these guys went through. It's all gone to shit now because Eddie started drinking again. And on top of that, his relationship with Wolfie isn't at its high point. Not a good sign for the band right now.

Absolutely not sober. Eddie's sounded horrible this tour. His playing drowns out the entire band, and I read a rumor that Eddie has been drinking again. Also hinted when Eddie threw his guitar off the stage and kicked over his amps in a rage after the 2/20 Ft. Lauderdale show.
