he comments with repect, puases for the musicians to reply, a dialogue, NOTHING like Toscsanini or Szell, Reiner, Steinberg, others of his generation controlled and abused, behaved like a tyrant to musicians.

Just LISTEN, he addressed "Hans, in former years...what have you to play..? ...that's right..." asks,,says "That's good...that's right.."

You GOTTA KNOW HOW RARE his approach was.

You judge the result.

When he is not happy he doesn't explode but explains what he doesn't like and repeats. He rehearsed without a score which apparently if you can do it is the best way.
