I followed the raw food diet for about a half a year and I was feeling awesome in the beginning, but in the end I lost all my energy and strength. I really want to give it another try but I don't want to get back into that condition. Can someone tell me some raw foods that would help me with this issue?

I agree, slow and steady is the way to do it. Slowly increase the amount of raw sweet fruits you eat each day, along with moderate amounts of greens and limited raw fats, while decreasing your cooked food intake. It's easy and effortless. :)
I love this video, especially the emphasis on alkalizing your body and inflammation and acidosis......I would like to know what you use on your body to prevent skin cancer? My husband had a skin cancer removed but it wasn't a melanoma but he goes for yearly checkups. I recently put sunscreen on a few weeks ago and it accidently got in my eyes and burned for 4 hours. What a mess! How do you feel about the uva/uvb rays and is there a natural product to use for protection?
Good one Dan. I'm not completely raw, but I can tell you, for sure that without my juicing and the large quantity of raw that I do consume these days, theres no way my system can tolerate a meat and potatoes diet. And yeah, I got rid of dairy 9 years ago, very high inflammatory responses to our processed, pasturized and homogenized dairy products. Organic goats milk doesn't do that to me ... I do miss cheese sometimes though. Like the cucumbers and honey idea. Peace.
@XxneoGrishxX Milk is very bad for you as well as all diary ( & all animal products are very bad for you) Try to google a research study done in UCLA about how milk actually robs calcium from the bone! So milk does the opposite of what the milk industry wants you to believe. Think about the profits they make when you get sick & need treatment.

@jtodd900 Steamed or stir fried veggies can't hurt once in a while, especially if you've got a strong system. Just make sure your next meal is a good one and you're good to go :) What I'll do also if I'm invited to a restaurant with friends or family is to simply drink a big jug of juice right before I go there, or eat a big salad whatever works for you, and order only one or two appetizers.
Most importantly I'd state that the fear we have from some foods is often way more harmful than the food
Yeah, you've convinced me to drop dairy altogether. I mean I've always been allergic, and you wouldn't believe what kind of hormone issues arise from that. I've long been down to just cottage cheese, and even that makes me feel like crap. A little sour cream is one thing, but I know that the dairy just has to go completely at this point.
I like to use almond milk as an alternative, and there are other things I can use instead. If it doesn't make ya feel good, why eat it?
I've just got a basic question.... When I drink my fresh juice I can only get through about 1/3 or 1/2 a quart at a time. I feel full as h*ll, so it takes me some time to get done with a quart or more. Is this normal?

@Weewinkle7 the bodys system works best in a neutral to slightly alkaline environment. when the bodys fluids become acidic, problems arise. Being too alkaline is rare and is usually caused by certain types of prescription durgs or antacids. most people will need lots of raw fruits and veg to have a healthy alkaline pH. Hope this helps x

green food powders are ok, but if you have questions about a particular brand/formula you should consult a professional. A lot of green powders also contain proteins you may or may not want. I prefer to get my greens juiced fresh. It's worth it in spades.
I mostly eat fruit, the only vegetable are tomatoes mabey, sometimes mung bean sprouts, but usually fruits, like grapes peaches, raspberries etc. I checkd my Ph, I got a pH7 or pH8 Thats very alkaline. I dont eat greens.

well, flitering still may not move all the drugs and hormones in the water. It will move the heavy metal contamination like lead etc. Some say boil the water to remove any bacteria etc, too. I do not know if it removed the nitrates, but it will remove some calcium.

@Catherine8raw it is possible to feel full when eating bananas and greens, oranges/mangos/sweet fruits and greens, raw, dried dates, sprouted grains and raw nuts and seeds. as well, veggie juices really help to eliminate unnecessary, compulsive snacking
Good for you, sounds great. It is just this kind of diet shoots up my blood sugars and the nuts make me really hungry. I started the day yesturday with pumpkin seeds/almonds and it NEVEr works for me. Respect to you if it does. Your on a high sugar diet, use a glucse monitor, it will show you, just how high. The nuts/seeds are seasonal as is fruit in the UK, so naturally you would not get this amount all year around. We evolved on a high omega 3 diet too. Best wishes, hope you do well.
If I am a point dextar (geek) it proves my point that Dans diet doesn't work : P Maybe my omega 3 fats have become depleted in my brain. I tried so many diets, some I had to pick myself of the floor, I am glutton for punishment for some of these diets. Look at tribesman/inuit like Western A. Price did, find evidence, do lab tests. My urine pH on a protein based diet was pH 5-5.5. On your diet what are you? Is your diet fruit and veggies/nuts/seeds? I could eat loads of potato and have a super high urine pH, but I am confused about all this pH thing, does it really work? @Catherine8raw yes diet is fruit n veggies at moment and i have some plain wholemeal pasta for lunch with tomatoes, cucumber n hemp seeds, as ive not acheived 100% raw yet. my skin / energy level is much improved. yes, im sure cancer is a fungus and when alkaline, the body will be healthy. ive heard about this and i believe theres lots of info out there about it and that its in Alkalise or Die by Dr Baroody. yes cabbage wll hav beneficial properties but if rest of the diet causes acidic pH .....
I was wondering if you knew of any strong alkalises besides cabbage, kale, coriander, parsley and the grasses (wheat/barley)? What is your pH most of the time? I'd imagine that with pasta it would be acidic, in fact it is so easy to get acidic and grains, like wheat pull out calcium, zinc etc... die to its phytates, its hard to win. I see wild plants and animals in nature, berries/nuts/seeds but that is what nature offers us. Grain was not their untill we domecticated it all.
@Catherine8raw some time ago it was alkaline 7-8, even on cooked diet but with alkalising lemons and cucumbers and some raw inc. i will test again and re-post. stress definitely affects pH too. i think with good diet and some cooked food, healthy alkaline pH is definitely possible, but obviously 100% raw is most ideal i believe, and what i aim for. best wishes
@Catherine8raw Something to keep in mind if someone has a thyroid problem it is better to avoid kale and cabbage as they interfere with thyroid function. Many people in the US have glandular dysfunctions these days.

The other issues are, what if fat soluble vitamins like A and D, protein and other nutrients are deficient, what if alkaline diets encourage arthritis, insulin resistance in people, with little tests and treating outselves like guinea pigs, and experimenting when people are reporting feel unwell may have serious consequences. A diet like this during pregnancy or giving it to a growing kid may have dangerous consequences. Fats are needed to make hormones, the baby could be lost for example.
@VonLeachim Ys, your right. I found concentrating on the greens the best approach, and then this take me to the fact that living off greens is not good enough alone. Eating nuts/seeds everyday might not be healthy, with the fungus contaminants and the fact it is a seasonal food. What foods do you find keep your appetite at bay and keep you slim? I read about a guy that does the rawfoodlife show on your tube, saving himself from colitis via eating raw foods. I am trying to get my omega 3s up. I will look into food combinations. I was reading about the mold on veggies, like celery (its at the end, people tend to cjhop it off anyway). Allimax, garlic, cloves, olive extract, candicurb, probiotcs, slippery elm, marshmallow. @Catherine8raw hemp seeds are rich in all the omegas. there is an article on fruit on rawforlife.co.uk blog called should fruit eating carry a health warning, and i think starting the day on seeds would not give you enough energy
There are hardly any saturated fats or omeag 3 in nuts, there are some acceptions, coconut has high SFA, walnuts have a 4:1 ration, BUT are way to high in omega 6, to get 25% omega 3 in comparison. Nuts/seeds are seasonal, tend to be moldy and contaminated with the aspergillus negars, which releases aflatoxin B1 (carcinogen), no its not just peanuts, its all nuts. Cashews are not raw, they usually are cooked. Omega 6 = high cancer growth! Like veg oils/marg, nuts/seeds are LOADED with omega 6!

great video, iuse my natural home made soaps and other things for body use ,i use my soaps to wash my har and use baking soda w avacado and bannana to condition my hari wah 2 days out of the week and to give my hair natural higlights for natural color i juice fruits and veges herbsand leave in my hair for one day or a few hours = i eat right and dont drink faucet water chlorine filtered, are waters are very contaminated, so even showering w chlorinated water weakens you immune system.
This is a question for Dan or anyone else on this channel that may be able to help me out. I am a vegan who recently found out that I can't eat nightshade veggies (tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes, and peppers) due to the damage that gluten has done to my small intestines over the years. Through trial and error I found out when I do eat them or gluten I get crazy arthritis pains. My problem is that I can't find any salad dressing recipes that are raw, low fat, and nightshade free. Any ideas?
@JackedCamino Juice from a Pineapple helps relieve arthritis pain. Maybe make a simple salad dressing from the Juice of a Pineapple. I got this info from the Juice Daddy (Jay Kordich, He is a pioneer in the field of health and nutrition)...

you can research it on the net. its a subject that is debatable. I personally believe in not generalizing, for some people milk might be good, for others not so much so.. feel what feels right for you and go with it. but I would advise drinking only organic milk, because generally un-organic milk is filled with the hormone estrogen which they inject the cows with so they produce more milk.. hope that helps =D

Adverts are so you will give them money. Raw milk has shown to be good for people, like the Masai and variosu inuits/tribes, but the cow normally gets given grass/wild plant diet, no grain and also cows are milked whilst pregnant so we get more estrogen in the milk. The best book you could read is life is in your hands by Professor Jane plant, who saved her life giving up milk, an inoperable cancer lump went down, shw had breast cancer 5 times. Milk is full of pus, mucus forming.
Milk suppost to have vitamin A/D in and some love raw cream and cheese. But I have found it gives me more chest problems, which I do not get otherwise, and PMT.Milk has excess estrogens that encourage cancer, high insulin growth factors (IGF-1)dioxins, cows give like 120mg Ca compared to 37mg in human milk weight for weight. We do not have large bodies/horns like cows, their milk is for them with loads of calcium and phosphorus in, too much for us. Goats milk is better if we have to consume it.

I just bought a vita mix and have been inspired to make a change and try to commit to raw foods. I am wondering though some ideas of what you might eat at a restaruant?? It is hard to avoid them all together, gonna find myself there once in a while.

@jtodd900 Steamed or stir fried veggies can't hurt once in a while, especially if you've got a strong system. Just make sure your next meal is a good one and you're good to go :) What I'll do also if I'm invited to a restaurant with friends or family is to simply drink a big jug of juice right before I go there, or eat a big salad whatever works for you, and order only one or two appetizers.
Most importantly I'd state that the fear we have from some foods is often way more harmful than the food

Yeah, you've convinced me to drop dairy altogether. I mean I've always been allergic, and you wouldn't believe what kind of hormone issues arise from that. I've long been down to just cottage cheese, and even that makes me feel like crap. A little sour cream is one thing, but I know that the dairy just has to go completely at this point.
I like to use almond milk as an alternative, and there are other things I can use instead. If it doesn't make ya feel good, why eat it?

I've just got a basic question.... When I drink my fresh juice I can only get through about 1/3 or 1/2 a quart at a time. I feel full as h*ll, so it takes me some time to get done with a quart or more. Is this normal?

This is awesome info I love it! I know that being too alkaline is bad for your health as well. Is that less of a concern because the body's fluids are more acidic than alkaline, and how do you keep that balance?

@Weewinkle7 the bodys system works best in a neutral to slightly alkaline environment. when the bodys fluids become acidic, problems arise. Being too alkaline is rare and is usually caused by certain types of prescription durgs or antacids. most people will need lots of raw fruits and veg to have a healthy alkaline pH. Hope this helps x

green food powders are ok, but if you have questions about a particular brand/formula you should consult a professional. A lot of green powders also contain proteins you may or may not want. I prefer to get my greens juiced fresh. It's worth it in spades.

I mostly eat fruit, the only vegetable are tomatoes mabey, sometimes mung bean sprouts, but usually fruits, like grapes peaches, raspberries etc. I checkd my Ph, I got a pH7 or pH8 Thats very alkaline. I dont eat greens.

No, they should be less allergic, if the body has the enzymes to deal with the chemicals and the liver can metabolize them everything should improve. Candida albicans encourages chemical allergies. If your eating lots of fruit you might feed it. Cabbage/greens contain substances help to break up estrogens/toxins within liver, allergies should cease. Cancer is a serious state, suppost to be a fungus, alkalising doesn't occu on fruit, unless its citrus, starve cancer/fungus with greens

well, flitering still may not move all the drugs and hormones in the water. It will move the heavy metal contamination like lead etc. Some say boil the water to remove any bacteria etc, too. I do not know if it removed the nitrates, but it will remove some calcium.

If animal fats/protein is not the way, how come Ray Mears say we could not survive alone of wild plants in the tropics or elsewhere without meat? No breast milk doesn't just contain medium chain (6 to 12 carbons). It contains palmitic acid, myrisitic, stearic acid like beef/lamb does. 246g human milk =

Palmitic acid - 2261mg

He speaks alot of sense. But I get so hungry I can't stick to the diet. The dairy products are rubbish, I agree get that mucus/pus/hormone/IGF-1 stuff out. Jane plant gave up dairy and her cancer went. They say cancer is a fungus. High heated fat is bad (trans fats occur by frying olive oil). I had loads of cucumbers when I tried, and it did not work! I got so hungry, it was expensive, it was uncomfortable. Dan speaks alot of sense, but without some animal fat/protein, causes up/down!

Good for you, sounds great. It is just this kind of diet shoots up my blood sugars and the nuts make me really hungry. I started the day yesturday with pumpkin seeds/almonds and it NEVEr works for me. Respect to you if it does. Your on a high sugar diet, use a glucse monitor, it will show you, just how high. The nuts/seeds are seasonal as is fruit in the UK, so naturally you would not get this amount all year around. We evolved on a high omega 3 diet too. Best wishes, hope you do well.

If I am a point dextar (geek) it proves my point that Dans diet doesn't work : P Maybe my omega 3 fats have become depleted in my brain. I tried so many diets, some I had to pick myself of the floor, I am glutton for punishment for some of these diets. Look at tribesman/inuit like Western A. Price did, find evidence, do lab tests. My urine pH on a protein based diet was pH 5-5.5. On your diet what are you? Is your diet fruit and veggies/nuts/seeds? I could eat loads of potato and have a super high urine pH, but I am confused about all this pH thing, does it really work? I was wondering if you knew of any strong alkalises besides cabbage, kale, coriander, parsley and the grasses (wheat/barley)? What is your pH most of the time? I'd imagine that with pasta it would be acidic, in fact it is so easy to get acidic and grains, like wheat pull out calcium, zinc etc... die to its phytates, its hard to win. I see wild plants and animals in nature, berries/nuts/seeds but that is what nature offers us. Grain was not their untill we domecticated it all.

The other issues are, what if fat soluble vitamins like A and D, protein and other nutrients are deficient, what if alkaline diets encourage arthritis, insulin resistance in people, with little tests and treating outselves like guinea pigs, and experimenting when people are reporting feel unwell may have serious consequences. A diet like this during pregnancy or giving it to a growing kid may have dangerous consequences. Fats are needed to make hormones, the baby could be lost for example.

I read about a guy that does the rawfoodlife show on your tube, saving himself from colitis via eating raw foods. I am trying to get my omega 3s up. I will look into food combinations. There are hardly any saturated fats or omeag 3 in nuts, there are some acceptions, coconut has high SFA, walnuts have a 4:1 ration, BUT are way to high in omega 6, to get 25% omega 3 in comparison. Nuts/seeds are seasonal, tend to be moldy and contaminated with the aspergillus negars, which releases aflatoxin B1 (carcinogen), no its not just peanuts, its all nuts. Cashews are not raw, they usually are cooked. Omega 6 = high cancer growth! Like veg oils/marg, nuts/seeds are LOADED with omega 6!

This is a question for Dan or anyone else on this channel that may be able to help me out. I am a vegan who recently found out that I can't eat nightshade veggies (tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes, and peppers) due to the damage that gluten has done to my small intestines over the years. Through trial and error I found out when I do eat them or gluten I get crazy arthritis pains. My problem is that I can't find any salad dressing recipes that are raw, low fat, and nightshade free. Any ideas?

you can research it on the net. its a subject that is debatable. I personally believe in not generalizing, for some people milk might be good, for others not so much so.. feel what feels right for you and go with it. but I would advise drinking only organic milk, because generally un-organic milk is filled with the hormone estrogen which they inject the cows with so they produce more milk.. hope that helps =D

Adverts are so you will give them money. Raw milk has shown to be good for people, like the Masai and variosu inuits/tribes, but the cow normally gets given grass/wild plant diet, no grain and also cows are milked whilst pregnant so we get more estrogen in the milk. The best book you could read is life is in your hands by Professor Jane plant, who saved her life giving up milk, an inoperable cancer lump went down, shw had breast cancer 5 times. Milk is full of pus, mucus forming.

Milk suppost to have vitamin A/D in and some love raw cream and cheese. But I have found it gives me more chest problems, which I do not get otherwise, and PMT.Milk has excess estrogens that encourage cancer, high insulin growth factors (IGF-1)dioxins, cows give like 120mg Ca compared to 37mg in human milk weight for weight. We do not have large bodies/horns like cows, their milk is for them with loads of calcium and phosphorus in, too much for us. Goats milk is better if we have to consume it.

aren't there certain foods and vegetables that needs to be cooked to be eaten? like egg plants, bitter melon, and other greens i need to cook to eat.
